This movie is an alternate retelling of the AnoHana: The Flower We Saw That Day TV series. Jintan, Menma, Anaru, Yukiatsu, Tsuruko, and Poppo - six grade-school students who were the best of friends. As the "Super Peace Busters," they always played together at their "secret base" until Menma died in a tragic accident. Five years later, Menma appeared before Jintan, now a high school freshman. No one could see her but Jintan, and Menma told him that she wanted the Super Peace Busters to grant her a certain wish. But not even Menma herself remembered what that wish was. Having been traumatized by Menma's death, the five had drifted apart, but after giving vent to their bottled-up feelings in an emotionally-charged moment, they gradually went back to being the "gang" of years past. An Emotional Film Covering The Anohana Series
Anohana is an incredible series, but for those who do not have the time to watch the series, the Anohana film is a good way to experience Anohana. Serving as both the conclusion to the series and series overview, the film covers almost everything in the series. While I suggest that people watch the series, the film is just another good way to experience the story, its characters, and the emotions that come with Anohana.

The english dub performances were great.
The quality of the english dub was amazing, the art book had some nice illustrations, and the bloopers were very amusing. Overall I'm very happy with my purchase.

Great as expected, however there is a large amount of content from the Anime series.
I really enjoyed all the new content and extra clarification on what happens after the Anime Season of Anohana, but I was extremely disappointed in the writers use in previous episode materials, I feel like the anime's contents were re-used FAR too much.*Possible spoilers, scroll down at your own risk*As to be expected of AnoHana since the anime was so cute and a tear fest, expect the same from the movie. Those that have watched the entire anime however may or may not be interested in buying the movie, I would say if you are somebody who was extremely drawn in to the anime and ONLY if you were extremely drawn in and wanted to see more story then pick this up! Even after the movie is over however you will still have some questions that may have been left unanswered, me personally I hope to see more from this series where we get every single answer and outcome without milking the franchise.

Just a recap movie with extra content.
I binge watch the whole series on netflix. Then somehow found out on youtube that there was a movie. The trailer looked suspicious, and hoping it won't be a "recap" movie. Similar to what Macross Plus did, where they make 4 OVAs, and later did a "movie". Where they splice all 4 episodes of the OVA into a 2 hour movie.I rented it, and my fears were true. The majority of the movie is like 75 minutes from the 11 episode series, with 20 minutes of additional content of what happen 1 year later with the 5 friends. The 20 minutes doesn't really add much into the conclusion of the series. So if you binge watch the whole series, and want to see the "movie". This is a pass on the book.
