Order a size larger than belly and a size smaller than jeans inseam. Not much adjustment for straps.
Thank goodness for prime wardrobe. I was able to order 7 different sizes and try them on at home and pick the size I thought would shrink just the right amount.I have wore insulated Carhart bib overalls for 30 yrs so I had a fairly good idea of what I was getting into. It was just that this was my first pair of unlined non-insulated Carharts.I will confess that a local store went out of business a few years ago and I picked up a pair of Key insulated bib overalls cheap. I really liked how they unzipped down the center of the chest and the leg zippers went to the thigh which back then Carharts did not. So they were very fast and easy to take on and off with boots on. I did not like how the keys were insulated above the waist though. With a coat on I would really sweat above the waist.Carhart is the only brand that makes unlined bib overalls and they now zip to the top of the thigh which is perfect for taking on and off easily. Now I know how much Carharts shrink and since there are no stores within 50 miles for me to try them on I ordered 7 different sizes.I wear waist size 36 jeans and 32" length, but I have a belly that measures around 42".They are so large before they are washed that I didn't think any of them would fit.The 42"x32" fit too good so I knew they would be too small. The 44"x32" I thought was what I needed and then I remembered that Carharts have very little adjustment in the shoulder straps so thought they would always be tightened as tight as they could go and never have any adjustment.I chose to keep the size 44"x30" because I knew that I would at least be able to make them longer by loosening the straps.I sent the others back and proceeded to wash my new pair of Carharts and they are as close to the right size as I could have hoped. There is room for jeans and a sweatshirt underneath if I choose or they fit without a sweatshirt.I am happy with my choice.

Great Bibs! Classic Carhartts.
I'm a skinny little guy. 30x32. I ordered that exact size and it fits like a glove. I don't like baggy pants. These fit perfectly. I'm a boat/ship welder in Alaska. When there's a tight spot to go into, it's always me to go. "Send in that skinny guy". Can't have baggy clothes on to catch on stuff. These are great! And I really like the zipper pocket rather than the button-style. Keeps my phone from going overboard when I bend over.

Great overalls!
I bought these to slip on over my clothes when I get to the job site. I service boilers and some days the work is really dirty. My pant size is 38x34 so since I bought these to slip on over my clothes I purchased these in size 42x32. I purchased the shorter length because I wanted them to ride a little higher on my boots. From new they were way too big even with clothes on under them. I couldn't even adjust the galluses up enough to compensate. I washed them in warm water and dried them on medium heat and still to big. I then washed them in hot water and dried them on high heat and now they fit perfect with my clothes on under them. The length is just right, I can now adjust the galluses and I can still button both buttons on each side at the waist. I've worked in theses two or three times and I'm very happy with them. They will shrink some in the washer and dryer so order big like I did ( if you're going to wear clothes under them ) and don't panic because they will seem huge from new before washing. Also these are really tough and a well thought out design.

Heavy duty - lasts a lot longer than just regular jeans
My husband is an electrician and loves these coveralls. I personally find them to be ugly, but hey, I have a lot less laundry to do at the end of the week. As I am almost certain that most of you know if you are looking at this kind of work gear, these are at first so stiff that I wonder how anyone could find them comfortable. I soaked them in the washer over night, which did not do a whole lot for making them any softer. My opinion is not of the utmost value here. My husband, who has to wear them, thinks they are awesome. Looking to buy another pair...

Great overalls for the summer months
I bought these to slip on over my clothes when I get to the job site. My pant size is 40x32 but since I have long legs I purchased these in size 40x34. I purchased the longer length because I wanted them to ride a little lower on my boots and so any shrinking from washing would be unnoticeable. I use these when performing electrical work in an industrial setting. I like that I can put them on and take them off without removing my work boots. The 40" waist is perfect for layering under. When I order my next pair, I will stick with my normal 34" inseam as the 32" inseam creeps up if you wash and dry them in warm to hot conditions. Note that these Bibs are not insulated for the winter months so don`t expect to be wearing them during the winter months they are for the summer months only.

It's almost a 5 Star except for...
Quality control. I had to cut several long, loose threads that were dangling inside the overall. The button holes were sloppily sewn. The zipper and metal buttons/hardware used are of high-quality. I knew it would be slightly longer but this is truly not a problem as I wear boots for work and/or while working in my workshop. I laundered and treated this overall with Scotchgard before use. Overall (no pun intend) I'm satisfied with this gear.

Hardworking but questionable reliability
Great wear. I only expected it to last a year. A few holes faster than expected but I'm hard on the seat and knees. I did not expect the leg zipper to fall off while zipping. I can put it back on, but an inconvenience for only 2 months of daily use.Length and waist fit as expected. Shoulders were way too long. I couldn't shorten them anymore so I ended up taping them shorter. Turns out, 2 of my co-workers did the same.

Awesome Bibs
I bought the non-insulated bibs. I have a pair of flannel lined Dickies bibs for work and they are too warm. I sweat during snow removal activities. I bought these specifically for snow removal around the house. They work perfectly, they keep me warm, but not sweaty. Tons of pockets for tools too. On a side note, I am a 36x30 pant size and I ordered 38x30 bibs. With a hoody and undershirt, the bibs fit snuggly, but not uncomfortably. Be aware to go up a waist size, given the clothes worn under.

Good quality but way too big
I ordered a size up from my usual pant size to allow for wearing jeans and long johns underneath. Went to put them on and way too big. Will have to get alterations done to make them fit. Too much hassle to have to return an item that should at least be close to fitting properly. Honestly could wear an insulated snow suit under these lol. But other than size issues they're built very well and seem to look like a quality product. Would order again but would need to try at least a size under my size for them to be even close to fitting properly. Way too long as well. I'm 6ft and these could easily fit a 7 foot guy

Good product.
Exactly what you would expect of a Carhart product. Two issues:1) a rivet (on the tab where the suspender attaches to the bib) fell off in one of the first washes.2) the zipper is very noticeable in cool/cold weather, or in a cool wind. I recommend wearing long underwear in such weather.

A bit large but workable
The overalls were well sewn together but I think they were for a taller person as the inseam was a bit longer than 32" and the shoulder straps were 12" too long. Compared to other Carhartts I have at the same size, these ones were much larger. Luckily, I hemmed the straps to a shorter length so they fit a lot better.
