Excellent product, great price ... er, intriguing packaging. :-)
I just opened the first jar of this 2-pack and while the packaging presented a bit of a challenge, the tahini itself tastes wonderful -- very fresh, creamy, and just the consistency I expected. Here's a bit more about the packaging. I didn't think I would like the soft plastic container, but it didn't take me long to decide it's better than a glass or other hard-sided jar. Just enough give to make it easier for me to grip the jar while I was removing the lid. (Not sure what would happen if the jar was dropped on a hard surface, but I'm not going there. Conduct our own testing! :-)) The peel strip to secure the outer (gold) lid was easy to open, but the plastic film covering the INNER rim seemed to want to shred. I found myself wishing for some type of pull-off tab. I eventually used the point of a knife to cut and remove it. A minor annoyance only. When I finished my (delicious!) taste testing, I snapped the lid tight and turned the jar upside down to store as I usually do. Because the lid style is new (to me). I have it on a counter so I can keep an eye on it. After an hour at room temp, no leaks so far. (And that easy snap-off lid is going to get me in trouble, I expect -- the easier to open, the easier to sneak another taste. And maybe just one more. :-)) Will definitely order again!

Great for hummus
I've been making hummus for several years. The key to making hummus is to have good quality ingredients and a good blender. This Baron's tahini is excellent and I will be buying it again and can recommend it highly. I didn't notice any recipes here, so I will give you mine. I think my recipe tastes much better than any of the hummus in the stores that I have ever tried. I would recommend getting a really good blender because that is the key to getting silky smooth hummus. I can recommend Vitamix or Blendtec. I have used both and they work great. This recipe can be tweaked to suit your taste. Some recipes call for cumin, which I don't care for, but you might really like it. Recipe: Start with one can of salted garbanzo beans. Put 2 tablespoons of the liquid in the blender, drain the rest and put the garbanzo beans in the blender. Add the juice from one lemon or 2 limes. 1 to 3 cloves of garlic. 2 to 3 tablespoons of tahini. 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Blend it all up in the blender until it is smooth. The texture depends on the power of the blender and how well it gets mixed up and also how much liquid has been added. Tahini thickens the mixture. You will have to experiment with the ingredients to get the taste and consistency you prefer. I like plenty of garlic. You will never buy the store bought, processed stuff again after making your own. It's really easy and tastes great. You can eat it like a dip with crackers, or you can toast some bread and eat it that way. It tastes good on anything I've ever tried.

Smooth and rich
This a great tasting, smooth tahini with a rich taste. OPENING BOTTLE - The tahini comes well sealed/protected in a plastic bottle. My only complaint with this product is how hard it is to open. To remove the cap, there is a plastic pull tab that is used to pull off a plastic ring that attaches the cap to the bottle. Every time I have tried to remove the plastic ring, it breaks. This leaves the cap still locked to the bottle and I have to use scissors or a knife to remove the rest of the ring. Then, once the ring is off, I can pull the cap off. But itโs not over yet! Once the cap is off, there is a clear plastic film over the opening that must be removed. Ideally, this film would have a little pull tab on it that would make it easy to pull off. It doesnโt. No matter how many times I buy this brand, I always have to stab the plastic film with a knife and cut it off. CAP - Once the plastic ring and plastic film are removed, the cap is easily removed and replaced. Too easily, in fact. I always fear that the top will pop off. I would not recommend dropping the bottle! STIRRING - Aside from these problems, the tahini itself is great! What I especially love is that it doesnโt require too much stirring when I first open it. Usually, tahini separates when it is not refrigerated. That is, the oil rises to the top and the tahini on the bottom gets very thick. Maybe itโs because I store my tahini upside down before I opened it, but this tahini has almost no separation and no thick spots. Once opened, I always refrigerate it. SMOOTH - As for consistency, this tahini is perfect. It is very creamy and smooth. While it is not as thick as peanut butter, it is not runny either. It is a very happy median. YUMMY - It also tastes very rich without that overpowering bitter taste that I have experienced with other brands of tahini. I really enjoy the taste. Iโve used it in salad dressings (just lemon juice and tahini), homemade hummus, as part of my oatmeal, and as a standalone spread for bananas. It is equally delicious for all uses! OVERALL - Once you get past opening the bottle, this is a great product.

Better alternative ๐
Well when you open it up it smells like peanut butter. Has a slight peanut butter flavor. I bought it because all the salad dressings have too much sugar it all has phosphate and it's not a real product anymore. So I created my own blackberry dressing. It's a taste to get used to. But it's a better option for those that are looking for healthier ways to eat. Was really easy to make. Two tablespoons of the sesame and about two tablespoons of water and five blackberries. Mush until they break down and put it on your salad. I am going to try to use it for other purposes. You can use it in your hair and on your body.
