Looking for a good time? You might find it here.
I've been using this mechanical timer for a while now, and I'm really happy with it. Here are some pros and cons:The good stuff: the ringer/bell is loud and clear, even from across the house, and the product feels sturdy andwell-built.Two things that would make it better, in my opinion:* The bell doesn't ring loudly unless you wind up the clock for at least 55 minutes. This isn't a problem for me,but I thought I'd mention it.* Some of the numbers on the dial are starting to scratch off over time. It's not a huge issue, but if I were tonitpick, that would be something.Despite some wear and tear, the timer still works smoothly and is easy to read. Overall, I think this is a greatproduct for anyone who needs a reliable mechanical timer.

Great for the price!
I got this timer because my oven doesn't have one. It's perfect to either place on the stove top to use or on the vent hood. I really love it! The only reason it's not 5 stars is because SOMETIMES literally 1 out of 100 times the timer doesn't ring when the time is up. I've found though it needs a light jiggle and it's good to go after!

It's... ok. It's cheap - in all sense of the word
It's a timer. It's mechanical. It works. I guess it does what it was "designed" to do. Two glaring issues:1) The product description is a lie. "The kitchen Timer is made of 304 stainless steel," is not true. The DISK with the numbers printed on it is metal. The dial you turn is not... it's cheap chrome plastic. My Battlestar Galactica chrome Cylon toy from 1979 is made out of stronger stuff. I'd have gladly paid a couple extra bucks for a METAL dial, and I resent being lied to by the manufacturer. This is a design issue in that the magnet built into the metal part of the timer is INSANELY strong and takes a significant amount of force to remove the timer from a metal surface. If you couple that with the cheap plastic dial you'll need to pull on to remove the timer from a metal surface... well, I'm not anticipating this thing lasting long. At least my Cylon will still be around.2) The bell sound doesn't really carry. It's perfect if you're in the same room, or if you're in an adjacent (non-walled) room. Beyond that... meh. You'll need to pick up and carry the timer with you or you'll miss the alarm (but see other issue above...).Not sure why these "different" manufacturers can't make a mechanical timer that resembles an old-fashioned alarm clock... Box metal casing, easily relocated, weighted, etc. Why the magnets? All of these mechanical timers (heck, and even the digital ones) look like they're pumped out of the same foreign facility, albeit with slightly different cosmetics. Whoever is responsible for the design specs should be ashamed. My Cylon is unimpressed.

Love This Timer ... For Two Years
I have had this timer for just under 2 years. And I love it. Sadly, it just died on me. So I bought another one. I'm not sure what that means from a review standpoint, so I will let you be the judge. The magnet is strong and holds the timer firmly in place on the hood over my stove. It's metal and looks sturdy and like it belongs on the steel hood. I'm not a fan of the cheap plastic look, so that actually matters to me.The clear "BING" it makes to alert you that the time is up carries well and can be heard rooms away, but not at all annoying. It is easy to read and easy to set with a good sized knob to turn rather than a fiddly little thing like some timers. It only lasted me two years. That is unfortunate. If I had located it somewhere less exposed to heat and steam would it have lasted longer? Maybe. But I think the fact that I like it enough to go back and buy the exact same one again says something.

Failed after a couple of years
Was shocked to discover that this stopped working recently. Noticed that it started to go off early a few months ago, then finally kicked the bucket. Maybe it's not realistic to expect it to last more than 3 years, but I expected better.

Best timer
Best timer I have ever used so I bought a second one. Since it is magnetic it stays right on the back of my stove and I never have to go look for it.
