Does not work on 0.500" ID ferrules...maybe I got a bad one? UPDATE: DON'T BOTHER
Tried to use this crimper to attach 0.500" ferrules onto a Flexzilla 1/4" ID hose, but could not get it to work...crimper didn't even leave a mark on the ferrule, much less crimp it. Tried calling the seller, ToolOrbit, but they never answer the telephone and gave up after multiple attempts. I did manage to speak with a tech at the manufacturer, Interstate Pneumatics, who was extremely helpful. I measured the gap between the two nibs that actually crimp the ferrule, and found it to be 0.518"; the tech measured the same gap on his H6 crimper and it was 0.448". To be on the safe side, I re-measured mine several more times and this gap was always in the 0.517-0.518 range. That's a difference of 0.070" between his crimper and the H6 that I purchased from ToolOrbit through Amazon. I'll be returning this for an exchange. If the replacement is just as bad, I'll just go back to using hose clamps.UPDATE: Received another crimper from a different provider, but same result. The gap between the nibs on this thing is just too large to be effective on a ferrule for 1/4" ID air hose, despite the mfr claim. I was hoping for a different result since maybe there was a bad batch with my initial purchase, but no luck. They need to revise the description of this product since its pretty much useless on 1/4" ID hose (in my case Flexzilla air hose). This one is also going back, and I'm done. Hose clamps it is, as much as I'd prefer not to do so, at least for the short term.

Product would work, if you knew the right ferrule to use and had the right hose size.
The product was well crafted and has good strength, but it did not work with the hose that I needed to repair. Therefore, I had to return it, and received my money back very quickly. If you have a 3/8” inside diameter hose, this tool might work, but I have a 1/4”, inside diameter, black rubber hose and the tool was too big to put a good crimp in the ferrule.
