Good beginner tenor banjo.
It is a beginner banjo but is a good one to learn on. I had to tighten the tuner on the A string but the rest tuned up well. I will probably change the strings in the near future. Plays well and sounds good.

lightweight, slim, not too loud
I really like how lightweight and slim it is. Get a good strap and it's extremely comfortable. Not very loud, but for an apartment dweller that's an advantage. With a little bridge adjustment, I was able to get basically perfect intonation all the way up the neck. Good first tenor or practice instrument. The dirt-cheap gig bag it comes with might as well be made of wet paper towel, but for the price I'm not complaining.

Not recommended at all
I hate giving bad reviews but feel I need to warn others. This banjo had obviously never been setup. Strings were barely tightened. The edge of the frets were very sharp and even drew blood. Even tuning it down to the G tuning didn’t help the playability of this banjo. I boxed it back up within the first hour and returned it. One string had bad fret buzz. I know this was not an expensive instrument but it still has to be playable, this Gold Tone tenor banjo was not. It did however look nice.

Good quality for a cheaply made product.
My wife bought this for me, it was a really good sounding Banjo, unfortunately a few minutes into playing it, a string snapped. I would say this banjo is a little pricy for its worth. 4/6.

Grampa happy
Came in tune! Decent soft case with pocket. My grandfather gave his away when moving across country to be in assisted living, but found he wanted one to keep busy. He loves it! Would be nice if they added a pick or 2, but we found some easily. Nice instrument at great price.

AWESOME
Came almost in tune already and bridge setup. Plays and sounds perfect. Nut needed a bit of filing on the edge but thats it.
