I love this piece
I love this piece. I had it for about a year. I bought 15 more at a trade show after ordering one here. What I do to help hold the handle. I have a thick rubber band around the c clamp part. It help hold the tip in and clamps tight on the handle.... I should sell the rubber band's or cut me in when you add them... Great Product... They hold up .

Too small for surf rods
Do not buy this item if you want to use it for large surf rods. The pieces are much too small to fit as pictured

Protects ferrules but not the tip
Great for protecting the furrule but the clip end isn't very useful. I wish the had another cap to protect the tip. I use a velcro piece to make sure it stays together since the clip doesn't work well on my rod.

Pretty slick solution to an ongoing problem
I've been using velcro and rubber bands to hold my rods together and neither of them works all that well. I've tried this device on one of my rods and it seems to work quite well. I appreciate not having to remove my hooks or lures. I'll be getting more of these for my other rods.

Doesn't work very well
Doesn't hold the rod very well, and the additional clip and Velcro strap don't help.

I wanted these to work, but I had issues.....
First off, the seller was fine - no issues and 2nd, I'm not sure I'm using these on the right rod. I have large surfcasting rods and these just don't fit well on the larger rods. All this is explained in the details so it's not the products fault - I wanted to try it on the rods I use and, as the description states, it will only work on rods smaller than mine. However, even on the smaller rods, I found that the bottom clip didn't securely stay on. If you do follow the instructions, the top piece stays in place with no issues - the fishing line actually helps secure that piece. Also since the pieces are small, you can easily loose them.Overall a 3 star rating given the limited size, not great tension and the need to secure the pieces when not in use.

Not what i expected
The clips really dont stay on very well. I used on a 10 ft surf rod, so maybe on a small outfit it might work better. I wound up giving them away.
