Holds its texture - pleasant flavor
My first time trying this - and I love it.. it's kind of a cross between barley and hominy as far as texture goes - but it holds up... I made posole in a crock pot and when it was done hours later, the Job's Tears still had some bite to it... this will become a part of my menus in the future - and it's gluten free...

Disgusting, stored improperly, tastes like a head shop smells
These have clearly been stored inappropriately next to strong fragrances and/or chemicals. It smells and tastes like my local magic/head/new age store, not like Job's Tears are supposed to. I did wash them VERY thoroughly. I don't know if whatever they're contaminated with is safe to consume, but these are going right in the trash. So disappointed, Assi is usually a good brand.

Really easy to make, very healthy
I was recently diagnosed with a complicated immune disease for which my diet has to extremely restricted, but I’m also prediabetic, but I also have to get in enough of the right kinds of carbs for my brain to function as well as possible at the moment and help my energy level so I’m not always feeling weak and tired. These are the *perfect* carb. 👍🏻 I can’t put any seasoning on them or eat them with anything else except a plain meat or fish portion and sometimes salt, but they taste good enough on their own that I don’t feel deprived.

Not good quality
The media could not be loaded. 1/4 of the bag is very brown grains. They are old. The grains are very powdery so wash really well.

Job's Tear's
Job's Tears are sometime referred to as Chinese Barley but they are not barley. They are gluten free with 12 grams of Protein in a 1/3 cup. They make hearty one-pot meals that your leftovers can be frozen. You can even make a delicious Porridge out of them.
