The Collagen Diet: A 28-Day Plan for Sustained Weight Loss, Glowing Skin, Great Gut Health, and a Younger You [Axe, Dr. Josh] on desertcart.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. The Collagen Diet: A 28-Day Plan for Sustained Weight Loss, Glowing Skin, Great Gut Health, and a Younger You Review: Doing the Cleanse as I Write this - So, firstly I will say; I follow Dr. Axe constantly (not stalker style just his health research lol). I find his information and research on point plus I'm refreshed by his faith-based suggestions in some of his books. He encourages you to incorporate your faith into your overall wellness... whatever faith that may be. If that bothers you then I can say I will also say I haven't seen evidence of that thus far in this particular book for some reason. I struggle with leaky gut so I am always always looking for ways to heal because it has led to so many other health issues. I pre-ordered this book months ago (maybe even last year?)... mostly as a show of support for his good works because I figured I'd heard it all already when it came to collagen from listening to him, and other natural healing practitioners previously. It's just been sitting on my shelf... Then the other day my husband said he needed to do "something" because he was feeling bloated and gaining some weight from eating too much "crap" food. SCORE for me because I'm always alone on my diets! I pulled out a few books and narrowed it down to this book and the Daniel Plan. I ultimately decided on this one. We're currently on the 2nd day of the cleanse. My husband is not hungry... I AM. I'm not sure why, maybe it's a menstrual cycle thing. I've looked through all of the menus (don't do this while on the cleanse it makes you hungrier lol) for the 28-day plan and it's identical to how I already eat... with the exception of only eating raw dairy I am otherwise gluten-free, sugar-free, conventional dairy free. I don't think I will lose any weight with the plan (since my diet won't be changing) but I'm sure my hubs will because he indulges in all of the above naughty foods for breakfasts and lunches (I make dinner for the whole family and they consequently eat the way I do for dinner by default). Anyway, for me PERSONALLY, because I already read many of his other books and even bought an online leaky gut course (kinda too pricey honestly) then I don't think I will benefit but if you're new to Dr. Axe it's a GREAT book with tons of info and tips. If you like a structured diet menu (which is super helpful when you're starting a new way of eating) that is a great bonus of the book. Anyway, I know I sound all over the place in the review... (I'm hungry lol) but overall it's a terrific book and honestly, if you're hungry during the cleanse you should probably EAT something... have more bone broth or another smoothie...or if absolutely need be, some steamed veggies... don't be stubborn like me. It's not about suffering as much as it is about giving your tummy a break and flooding it with collagen. Hmm... I'm going to go take my own advice now lol Ciao! Best of luck and enjoy getting healthy :) Review: LOVE THIS INFORMATION! - Dr. Axe always provides information in a way that’s quite informative without being too simplistic (some are written in a cheesy way), and without being too difficult technically. I feel he’s quite a wise man. I’m 56 years old and I have now taken a lot of the steps suggested towards better health with collagen, and I can honestly say I’m seeing the difference in my appearance and health. I do use his collagen products, with a favorite being the vanilla collagen (WoW!! Tastes amazing in my coconut pancakes.) My 31 year old daughter is beginning to follow the plan he’s set out in this book now too. I would highly recommend reading this book (with some amazing recipes included) to anyone of any age.

The Collegan Diet Book by Dr Josh Axe
I ordered this book by Dr. Josh Axe because I am always looking for help with my aging skin. I will be 79 (most think I am 65) in May, but I have been blessed with few lines and wrinkles, thanks to my mother. I am still in the reading process, but it has opened me up to the world of collagen and ways to improve my skin and overall appearance. The book includes foods, diet and many recipes. I am excited!

Good info on collagen, but NONE re. amount of ingredients for juicing, nor on possible nausea
I've long been a believer in bone broth - so my headline might seem like a paltry thing to pick on. I received the book last week and was excited to start on the 28-day plan, starting today with the 3-day collagen cleanse. As anyone will note, Dr. Axe recommends doing your work out in the morning before any sustenance, then having a collagen drink, or bone broth, immediately after. And yet, on 2 of the 3 day fast, the first drink is juice. And what's more, just the ingredients, not the amount. I opted to stick with the letter of the book, and after a morning bike ride, made my juice - 1 small beet, half a cucumber, half lemon juice. (No swiss chard, as I didn't have any, so I used celery instead). Within moments of drinking - about 10 oz in all - I felt violently nauseous. I tried to knuckle through it, but in the end threw up the lot (sorry for the graphics). Immediately felt better, but it's been another half hour (and a cup of warm, salted bone broth) before I feel well enough to write. I suspect the beets provided too immediate a load of sugar in my system, as I've juiced before with no problem, but never with root veggies. But seriously... in a book this comprehensive, he doesn't mention how much of each ingredient to use? Or how many ounces of veggie juice one should drink in one go? (which would at least be something). I've enjoyed reading the book, but did notice this lack in the chapter on the 3-day cleanse - and now, I feel furious. No info on the possibility something like this might happen. Nor on the contradiction about Exercise before your first and then have collagen in your first (liquid) meal, vs that first meal being juice. • Should I have had the post-workout collagen boost before the juice? Instead of? • Could I actually have swapped lunch (collagen smoothie) for breakfast, and had that? • Can one interchange meals on the cleanse, or even days (like, could I have done day 3 instead of day 1?). • What the hell caused my nausea? I suspect the sugar hit from the beet was just too much - but I don’t know. There’s no info. • Was it a no-no to juice so soon after exercise? IMO, the book needs to be changed to include this info and address the apparent contradiction. There should be no doubt about any of the above, which makes Ch. 11 sorely lacking. So buyer beware - don't do what I did! It was a really unpleasant experience.

Amazingly informative book!
I didn't even know how much I needed to read this. I was already supplementing with Collagen but now I fully understand how to get the most benefit from it, why I need it, and have many practical recipes to keep this in my eating plan. Also it is clear to me that Dr. Axe is genuinely committed to helping others achieve optimal health by both being a living example and by educating others. So very much appreciate all he does.

I love this book
I didn't get the physical version, mainly because if i did, I'd probably just end up leaving it lying around and finding it each time I wanna get a recipe. The first half of the book talks about the science behind collagen and the benefits of it and all that stuff and then the other half talks about the challenge and the recipes. The 28 day challenge is super challenging for me mainly because there's a lot for me to give up. LOL! Let's just say that I haven't been eating the right food as of late! LOL! But this should help me out. I know for a fact that I have started losing some of my collagen. Mainly because of my skin, especially after my pregnancy. I started getting eczema and I never got them before. And then my skin doesn't have that elasticity that it used to have. Yeah, you have to buy different products that can help supply your body with collagen like the collagen protein and such, but hey! whatever works right?

Collagen needed in your body
Bought the book and so excited to add Collagen into my diet more on daily basis. Dr Axe makes it easy to understand and gives recipes and a plan to follow . Looking forward to this being my life long habit of getting Collagen in my diet, and my family members as well.
