Lake Superior Agates: Your Way to Easily Identify Agates (Adventure Quick Guides)

While recently visiting Lake Superior I spent The day combing the beach for agates. This book shows which rocks are real agates and which are imposters. I highly recommend it.

This is a gift for a 9 year old and the photos should help in his rock hunts. With the page tabs this book measures 4¼" x 7½" - a convenient size for packing. As stated elsewhere there is not an overwhelming amount of description. I was surprised that the portion of the Mississippi River valley down to the Minnesota-Iowa border was shown as a good source of agates. (See overlay)

Cute little book but I wish there were real pictures

New at rock picking when I got this book. It is helpful, but only shows the great agates, nothing about less than perfect stones that I've encountered.

This took forever to receive plus I paid for shipping and provided pretty simple and brief context that was more obvious then educational I guess more or less the Images are good quality but for the cost I would have liked it to be more informative.

Just started getting into agate hunting. This is the book you need if you are starting out

Nice but very short.

Found this little book extremely helpful in identifying and navigating agates.
