TerraTrike 13t Deluxe Idler

Not what I was looking for. It's all plastic. But if that's what your looking for it works.

Just what the doctor ordered. Sure, the TerraCycle ones are metal teeth instead of plastic, and are a bit fancier, but at $65 shipped for the entry one, they are not easy on the budget.Excellent build quality. Great choice for a budget build or to upgrade from a non-toothed idler. A bit noisy compared to some, but a great item overall.

It is working good so far. I did not rate it 5 stars because I did not expect the actual sprocket to be of plastic as the shields. So if I am happy with it in the incoming moth, I'll just buy a spare just in case the teeth are eaten up.

This is the standard idler used on the "stock" high performance Sportster model.It represents a balanced combination of longevity, performance under moderate, non professional pedal force loads, as well as chain noise minimization.For me these rollers were perfectly adequate for my first 5,000 plus miles of all year, all weather DC Metro Terra Trike commuting.But, after almost a year of "Triking" I found that I was in much better shape, actually greatly better physical shape, and thus I could generate significantly greater pedaling force.So I replaced these four idlers, just as Terra Trike recommends with the heavier duty, more expensive CNC machined metal idlers.And that is no reflection on either the quality and or the design of these idlers being made out of Delrin plastic.And my eventual need to go to the higher performance model idler, is perfectly fine, as it was years ago, when I elected to drive my Volvo 745 turbo wagon much harder, and so, after wearing out some front bushings, I learned that I had to get the police / taxi heavy duty suspension bushings for the car.
