Can you lock it half way down or it's only either up or down ? Thank you.

It probably depends on the weight of your device. With my camcorder, I can adjust all three legs at different heights at the same time and it's sturdy. With a heavier device it may very well weigh it down to fully open as the only option. There is no "locking" option for height adjustment.

Price is high but worth it.

Nice product. Sturdy & specially the foam under metal with rubber pads for grip is good. Price is little high but overall good product. It may topple in speedy winds but if placed carefully it stays stable.

Not good for DSLRs with big lenses

The mount looses balance with large lenses ... My 18-300 lens cannot remain steady and it kneels towards the side of the lens ... Mayb it's ok for small kit lenses , but not functional for bigger lenses
