Kitten

This sweet cat looks and feels real. From the back you would swear a young adult cat was lying on the bed. This is a good solution for an older adult who can't have a real cat at present. I use mine without the batteries as a friend to stroke sometimes. This cat isn't squeezable as a regular plush animal because it has electronics inside to make it look like it's breathing when batteries are added. But you wouldn't squeeze a real cat anyway. It looks and feels very real. It is a joy to have on the bed or in a chair to stroke now and then.

I received one of these toy tabbies as a gift and just love it! It is really cute and at least to the casual observer seems real. I put it on my desk at work and many people stopped to admired it. A few people were startled when they realized that it was "breathing". My family lost a cherished real kitty a few months ago and at least for now we cannot get another one. In the interim this toy has been a great thing for us.While I don't think this would be a good toy for rough and tumble play it could be a good tool for teaching a young child to be respectful and gentle with animals before a real pet comes home. The cute appearance and the soothing purring sound has made it a good pseudo companion for a family member who is in her mid eighties. I have not had my tabby long enough to speak on the subjects of battery life or durability but even if the breathing mechanism eventually fails the toy will still be very cute to look at.

I received the Orange Tabby as a gift from my wife. It was certainly a different kind of gift to receive and a bit unusual. However, it turned out to be one of the best gifts I've ever received. Many of the reviews on Amazon talk about what a great gift this is for an elderly person or small child. I am neither, but I still love my kitten.I am an active duty military member currently serving on an unaccompanied tour overseas. I left my "real" dog, Bravo, and three cats back home with my wife. As you can imagine, I miss them greatly. But with my work schedule and living situation, I simply cannot have an actual pet. My Orange Tabby, who I named "Miso", is the next best thing. I keep "Miso" near my pillow on my bed. The motor sound sounded a bit mechanical at first, but also rhythmic and consistent, very similar to my purring cats at home. It's a comforting sound that helps my mind stop racing at the end of the day and allows me to drift off to sleep. As long as my kitten consistently breathes next to me, I feel calm. It really is a great product and I recommend it often to other military members far from home.

Love the concept! My kids and I loved the cat and it's real life appearance, and the fact that it seemed to breath like a real one! The one downfall is the battery issue. After less than two months it stopped breathing. I changed the batteries and it still didn't work! :( I'm bummed! I was looking forward to this lasting longer. If you can't replace the batteries, what is the point! Wishing this would last longer than it did. So disappointed that it won't accept new batteries to keep it going longer!

I gifted this to my grandmother for Christmas. She has alzheimers and this has really helped her socially. Unfortunately it stopped the breathing motions just a few days ago and changing batteries did not help.

I am very disappointed. I purchased this item as a gift for my aunt who is in a nursing home. It arrived early which was great, but was super super tiny!!! (About 9") I looked all through the listing before I bought it, but couldn't find the dimensions. The photos provided with an adult and toddler made the toy look huge. Very disceptive!

I got this for my 99 year old grandma in the nursing home based on other reviews. It was a bit of a risk... I didn't know if she would like it. I was so happy...she loved it! I saw tears in her eyes for the first time. It reminded her of her cat she had to give away. This is the kicker...she said she wants it buried with her! I couldn't believe it. The other nice thing is all the workers liked it too and it's a great conversation piece. So I highly recommend this for anyone in a nursing home.

9 year old daughter is crazy about this. I was surprised that you are not able to turn it off. It says it will run for 3 months and then the battery will need replacing. The bed and brush that came with it are pretty good quality .. I was surprised. It is MUCH better quality than the Build-a-Bear bed and brush we bought.
