RaceWax Base-Side Bevel Ski Edge Tool with 3 Diamond Stones and a Metal File

This device can do it all. Sharpen the base and side edge of your skis all in one tool. I have been using this tool for years and it gives me a nice sharp edge to carve turns even in the icy conditions. Many hand held tools only sharpen the base or side edge and cost a small fortune. The SKS Multi Tool is the only tool that can do both. I have refined my ski tuning abilities and from edge tune, base clean to wax time all done in one hour. When traveling you can tune your skis right in the hotel room. This device is small, portable and gets the job done. Well worth every cent.

Only necessary if you plan on doing your own edge work. I only condition my edges once a year (about 25 day trips) and this is a new addition to my toolbox. Seems to work well. I have a LibTech and they are a little difficult to work with due to the edge design but the tool works fine. I use it on my other board, my two son's boards (traditional edges), and my wife's skies.

Really easy to change files and file positions for bases and edges without tools. Quick and easy to use. Instructions are simple, clear, and helpful to a point, but there should be more information about the different files. Instead, you have to go online.

Not cheap, but this one tool replaces two other tools that together cost twice what this costs. One caveat: the diamond files can be difficult to find online.

it is a bad value but its a smart tool. you cannot set edges using a file bud, each manufacturer of skis/boards uses different base and egde angles, many of them like my Lines have 1/2 degree bevels - base is set at 0.5 and side is 1.5. You will destroy your edges by just using a file, you need to file at the precise angle of your skis/boards and you should look that up online before you attempt to sharpen base or side.Precise, this tool IS NOT. for the price though it should be. It might cost them a few bucks total to make this tool from plastic in China, so they are definitely 20x margin on this. If you are going to have the precision of 1/2 degree on grinding an edge, the tool itself cannot be made from cheap flimsy plastic with +/- 5 degrees of wobble/play in it, LOL. For this price, the body should be machined from proper 6061 aluminum.The concept is good, someone should just make it from decent materials.As is, this may or may not give accurate results. Should be good for basic deburring but due to the flimsy plastic nature of the part, its not going to be accurate or repeatable. Im not sure why nobody seems to make a good edge/base sharpener ...

Great tool, able to adjust to any bevel 0-5 with 0.5 increments and interchangeable stones. Excellent purchase

The files are garbage quality. Thanks to the sidecut and the way the tool holds the file only the file edges touch they ski, which quickly wear out. This is usless for anything more than touchups.

Bad value. Should have bought a $3.00 file.
