Seriously regretting my decision to purchase this - a nice bag but with horrible lining quality and tiny useless pockets
I've had this bag for about a month now, and I'm really disappointed in it. The bag itself is actually really nice - it was the same trendy design I've been looking for and it actually came earlier than I expected, about a day or two, so that was a plus. But the first day I had the bag, the little zipper pocket inside would not close and after a few attempts of trying to fix it, the tiny zipper broke and snapped off. I should have sent it back right then and there, but I decided to give the bag another chance (huge mistake). The big front pocket is okay. I don't mind the metal snaps at all, but it can barely fit my wallet, my glasses case, and my phone without bulging. The two side pockets are practically useless because the length of the zippers is so short. For comparison - I can't even fit four of my fingers inside, let alone my entire hand to dig around for what I need. No fitting any water bottles in here. The interior of the bag can actually fit a lot of things - it fit my 15inch laptop with its case, mouse, charger, 1inch binder, pencil case, and 2-3 books and a small umbrella easily - but don't let its spaciousness fool you. The bag only opens so big that it's really hard to put things in and take them out. You literally have to dig through the bag to find what you want because the bag just flops over on itself and makes everything a mess (to some, that 'floppiness' may be a plus). Also, the actual lining of the bag is horrible quality. After just a week of using the bag, I saw ripping in the lining. I attributed it to the weight of my laptop, so for the next week I took to just carrying my laptop in my arms. This completely missed the reason why I bought the bag in the first place - I wanted something sturdy and big enough that could carry everything I needed. I wanted the bag to last for at least a year, but the lining continued to rip, and I've had to cut off all the loose threads. I was going to just throw away the lining, but what if the bottom of the bag falls out too? The bag also has no support at all, and with just the weight of a few books, it sags and puts so much pressure on my shoulders. Trying to adjust the straps does nothing at all to help. Fashion and style are nothing if you end up with crippling back and shoulder pain.I've never been so disappointed with a purchase in my life. I wish I had returned the bag the day I got it, then I could have saved myself $30. Now I'm searching for another bag because I don't think this one will even last me to the end of next month.Edit: I stopped using this bag less than a month after posting this review and threw it into my closet because I couldn't stand looking at it. Now, almost a year later, I was cleaning my room when I happened to find this horrible backpack again, and I thought I'd post pictures for anyone who thought I was joking when I said "what if the bottom of the bag falls out too?"Voila: I literally had to STAPLE this bag closed until I could buy a new one.Seriously. It's time to throw this bag away. Save yourself the time and money and LOOK SOMEWHERE ELSE.

My bag is cooler than your bag.
I made some modifications to mine. I removed the pointless leather straps that attach to magnets, then covered up the magnets on the front, one of them with a cool GWAR patch and the other with some taxidermy eyeballs I hotglued in place and then painted swirly designs around (you'll have to trust me on this, it looks awesome.)Then I took it with me to see my pals in GWAR (they are my favorite band, if that wasn't obvious) and had them all sign and scribble all over it with sharpies. So it's one heck of a really cool bag now.The part that's relevant to people thinking of buying it: Those magnet straps are seriously pointless and cheap looking. You can just take 'em off though--but then as I said you wind up with the magnets just sitting there, and they're harder to remove, you'd have to cut into the bag's fabric and it would make a mess, really easier just to cover them with patches or whatever. The bag fastens closed best using the drawstring, you just tie a simple square knot loosely in it and you're good, the flap covers that part up. Basically the best reason to buy this is if you're wanting something you can modify and personalize, or if you're buying a gift for someone who does that, this is a great bag for that sort of thing. People who are into punk or metal or artistic expression will dig that about it. If you're looking for something that is perfect when it arrives...you might have some issues with this.I like the compartments, they are well sized and functional.I'm not sure I'd want to use this for a heavy load of textbooks in a school environment, but since I'm an adult I'm happy with it. I can put a clipboard, a book, a box of tissues and a hoodie in there with room to spare and use that front pocket for my phone, keys, smokes. It worked out well for carrying around a festival, an amusement park, carry on on an airplane, and so forth. It seems durable but again...don't know how well it'd stand up to hard use by a kid.

Durable for college, work and light travel
The grounds on my university is enormous and I've carried this backpack around with me everywhere for the past year. The big main pocket carries my 15" laptop (no laptop compartment however), a few notebooks, the occasional textbook, my laptop and phone charger and various odds and ends like a big wallet, over-ear headphones, my lunch, etc. The small pocket on the front is also big enough to comfortably carry my note 4 phone (+ earphones, pens, phone cable, etc). I put tiny misc things like my keys, ID card on the side pockets. Those were also big enough to fit my iPod touch.I have a tight schedule so I don't have time to treat my backpack with utmost care, but I always take the extra few seconds to not handle it roughly so it doesn't break the straps (how I lost my previous two backpacks r.i.p). I've also been carrying it to work every weekday and used it for traveling around in New York. The backpack is still in mint condition. Nothing is broken, there isn't the tiniest tear and I use every pocket and corner of this backpack to its maximum capability (sometimes to more than it should handle). Some coffee spilled inside from the mug I once carelessly stuffed in without completely closing the lid's mouth hole, but after wiping the backpack off with some water asap, it looked good as new.Downside: Only one, I wish the pockets on the side were open without a zip so I could put my water bottle or coffee mug in them (they do not fit in those pockets)tl;dr Use this for work, classes, and light backpacking in cities. It can handle more than you think, but don't over-abuse it.
