We purchased these as replacements for the one which came with our ionic foot bath. I took one new array out of the bag to compare it with the one we have. At first glance they seem the same. The black plastic housing is the same, cord is same and the stainless steel spring inside has the same number of wraps to both coils. When I compared the stainless steel spring, I immediately noticed that the spring in the new array was lighter duty than the original. We've been using the original array and cleaning it with white vinegar between uses. Even with over a dozen uses, the stainless in the original array is much brighter than the stainless in the new one. The new array stainless is dull and looks like it's been used already. I then weighed both arrays on my digital kitchen scale and the new array is 19 grams lighter than the original array. Since everything else is the same, this proves the coils are lighter duty... not as heavy and thus a lesser quality. Next, I took the new array and did a 36 min foot bath (two rounds of 18 minutes each). Although I could definitely tell the array was working because of the sensation on my feet, the feel and the effect in the water was about the same as the array we've used a dozen times. When I rinsed the new array, it was dark and pretty corroded. I put the array in a vinegar bath and will clean it in the morning. I'm going to do another foot bath tomorrow and see how it does on a second treatment. I can't see where we will get more than a few treatments from these arrays so even though the cost per unit is low, I got what I paid for. I was hoping for better. I'll decide tomorrow if we'll just get whatever uses we can from them or we'll send them back and try to find a better quality array like the one we originally received.next morning... I soaked the array in pure white vinegar overnight and I was pleasantly surprised to see the coils come out shinier than the coils on a new, unused array from the same shipment. We'll keep them and get the use we can get from them. I'll also update again when we see how many treatment cycles that turns out to be.
