The three piece design of this drain makes for a very simple and flexible installation. The finished product looks great with my shower hardware, too.

I've used several of these drains and they always do a great job! The hair catch under the drain plate is a must-have!

We doing a full master bath remodel right now and my plumber suggested this drain set based on adjustability and the built in hair screen. My tile guy said it was a good choice also because of the adjustability. It may seem like it's not too sturdy when held in hand, especially if you're on the heavy side and thinking "This thing gonna support all my weight when I step on it?" but once installed and surrounded by the mortar that makes up the shower pan it's as solid as a rock. The adjustability allows it to be raised or lowered to accomomdate the thickness of the floor tiles and thinset. I can't speak to how well this one would work with a premade fiberglass, or other type of shower pan.

Although Ebbe drains are an attractive system, I was forced to return this drain because the product page did not adequately warn that this PVC assembly is not compatible with hot mop installations. The plastic may melt under the hot tar. You will need to buy a steel version for that. A simple warning on this Amazon page would have avoided all the grief.I strongly encourage you to consult with your plumber before buying this drain.

I read a review that stated that this is what they used to replace the guts of the non standard drain that they purchased. The non standard drain covers are beautiful, but will not connect to our 2" drains, plus they have some other parts that just don't work with our system. Ebbe offers an easy fix. Buy this kit, throw out the green cover plate and slip in the one that you purchased (make sure that it is the right size. I purchased a Beelee shower drain, kept only the cover plate which was 100x100mm, and it slipped right in.

The drain looks great and is easy to tile around because it is square. It is a little more challenging to install that a round drain as the level of the shower drain has to be determined before the cement is filled in around the drain because it cannot be turned after the cement has been put around it. With a round drain the level can be adjusted a little even after the cement is wet and around the drain.I paid someone to install it, so I didn't have to mess with the level of the drain.
