Gibraltar SC-XHAT X-Hat Attachment

Great product and great value for money solution to include an offside set of hats. I located a pair of New Beats above a ride and am very pleased with the result. The fit of the unit is great and it holds well and the clutch does a good job of setting the hat position. I have tried fully closed and the sound is as good as a foot fully down hi-hat stand. The adjustment is fairly easy and gives a full range of options in terms of how open you want the hats. True there is no ability to control remotely and I'm sure that the setting of the hats will begin to slip with age but look at the price tag and tightening the heads is not that difficult a job.

Gibraltar addressed everything with this design. It fits my Gibraltar and Premier stands with plenty of threading and with a locking nut. Once playing, I realized how useful and easy the bottom hat adjuster works. This lets you set the top wingnut on the clutch one time, then adjust the sizzle with one hand. The spring keeps it from getting looser. This product also works as a cymbal stacker if you are into making chop sounds.

I LOVE this thing! It is solid & functions perfectly. I also like that you can switch out the clutch if you have a quick release or other one you are accustomed to. The twist tension works well & because this unit is adjustable from top & bottom you can really dial in how open or closed you want this. Slush or articulate to your desire. Keep in mind this attachment it 10" long so tucking it in a tight spot could present a challenge. I intended to use this with my main kit but I wasn't able to tuck it in where I needed it due to height. Had to go with a different brand for that which I don't like as much. I do like this Gibraltar so much I decided to add an X-Hat to another kit I have which allows more room. Works great. Looks good & is versatile. Another high recommendation for a Gibraltar product. If it was a bit more compact I would have given this 5 stars which I don't do often.

Screws onto any 8mm threaded cymbal stand. Very sturdy construction and unbeatable value. I'm using it with 2 10" splashes in the closed position for some trashy accents. I haven't used it heavily yet, but I'm confident it will hold up for many many years of heavy use. It is currently on my set that stays in the studio so it probably won't be moved very much. Gibraltar makes VERY durable and high quality gear for relatively little money. If anything changes I'll update my review, but no news is good news.

I tried screwing this thing on to all different brand cymbal stands, Pearl, PDP, Gibraltar, CB, and SP. Would not screw on to any of them. I watched a video and the guy in the video says it screws on...turns it several times, then says well for the sake of the video I'll just clamp it there. Well I figured out it would not thread on because the little brass sleeve on the inside is not even threaded. So I either received a defective one or they just simply sit on top of a stand and you crank a screw down against the threads on your cymbal stand to keep it in place, Which is what I ended up doing. If it wasn't a cheap clamp cymbal boom I would have not gone that route and just returned it. Also if you are the type of drummer who uses the tilt feature for the hats, the whole base rotates when you turn the big wing nut to open or close the hats, which would mean your hats won't be angled in the same direction anymore. All I can say is it works ok so far, but its a pretty bad design and use a cheap cymbal stand.

I've tried this up against a rival manufacturer's version, and the Gibraltar wins hands down. Simple to use, it fits best - perhaps unsurprisingly - on a Gibraltar cymbal stand or arm, and is very easy to set up and use. A simple solution for anyone looking to add a remote hi-hat to their setup.You can very quickly adjust the amount of pressure placed on the cymbals (and therefore the sound they make)' simply by turning a nice big easy-to-find-on-a-darkened-stage handle.Does everything it says it should. Highly recommended.

Can't go wrong with Gibraltar. A top brand in drum hardware for years. Perfect add-on for an extra hat, side hat, or as I use it for adding a hat to a minimal singer-songwriter cajon setup.Pros-- solid, just as Gibraltar is known for- bottom, large wing-nut type tension adjustment works great for getting tight closed sound, partially open, or loose ( or wherever you desire in-between)- add to the top of most cymbal stands quicklyCon- I wish the hi hat rod was a couple inches longer to mount a splash using another hat clutch. (Probably pretty unique to my situation)...With a pair of 13" hats (avg bell size), I only have about 2" above the main clutch.

Great supplement to my set. I connected onto an old cymbal stand and place it by my ride. This helps when playing syncopated latin rhythms. Allows me to use my left hand easily on the tom while my right on the HH. Goodbye constant cross-over and range limitations.KMC Music Inc. shipped the atachement and received quickly. Very reliable.

El producto es muy bueno en caso de que se requiera agregar al kit un hihat secundario, desde luego sin pedal para el clutch, los platos top y bottom se pueden ajustar de forma independiente, y se requiere de un boom o brazo extra para colocar el hat, sin embargo es bastante funcional en caso de requerir un hi hat secundario con una apertura especifica o totalmente cerrado, al no haber un atril, no hay patas que ocupen espacio en el suelo y puedan estorbar.
