Quality isn't great, item is so-so.
I'm on my second one of these. The first one overall was better quality even though i always had to unplug it in between uses. The reason for it was that it wouldn't turn back on after. The one I got more recently isn't as good overall and now has a black on gray display that was barely visible after a short time. You would think that for the price it wouldn't be so cheaply made

Failed to impress us
We wanted this to work. We really did. And for $550 we tried to like it. But you know what? We didn't.We sank that kind of money into a heating pad because my Darling Bride has severe fibromyalgia and nothing seems to help. Her moist heating pad seems to relieve a little of the surface pain, but not the muscle pain underneath. THIS pad seemed to promise us the deep, penetrating heat that would get into her muscles a little and maybe help. When we got it I read the instructions (I'm a nerd that way), set up it, plugged it in and draped it across her recliner. First observation: this thing is HUGE! It's like 70" long - massive! So it was easy to drape. We went through several temperature settings until we found the Goldilocks spot that wasn't too hot or too cold. But after several uses (in several different thicknesses of clothing - instructions say no skin-to-pad contact), it didn't penetrate her skin. Just surface heat... much like her significantly less expensive moist heat pad.So in a last-ditch effort to give this pad the best shot we could, I put it on the bed, right under the fitted sheet. She slept on it several times, giving it plenty of time to warm up. Again, however, all it did was warm up her skin... and did none of the "penetrating" thing we had hoped for.Maybe we set our expectations for it too high: but considering the cost of this pad, I don't think so. It seems to have worked miracles for some other people - judging by their reviews. Maybe my wife's condition is just too far gone for any pad to help. But whatever the failure, this pad went back. That is a lot of money to pay for a heating pad that did no more than the moist heat pad we already have. I hope it works better for you.

I depend on these infrared pads
I have fibromyalgia, have had it for 14 years; had chronic fatigue for 10 years before that. Fibromyalgia is a pain syndrome which varies from sufferer to sufferer. My fibromyalgia seems to be an autoimmune issue within my nervous system, so my body doesn't process pain signals properly. I had been using regular heating pads with some small pain relief for years. I've now been using the Therasage heating pads for several years, and they really do make a difference. They are not a panacea, but if I don't use the infrared for at least a few sessions a day, I am in much more pain, and afterward it takes longer for the infrared to help with the pain. The main problem I have with the Therasage product is that the electronic controller goes out. It does detach from the pad itself which is an excellent feature; I think that the jade stone portion is actually very durable. When a heating pad stops working, you can swap a power cord in from the same size heating pad, and the jade stone portion will still work, so it really is the electronic power controller that breaks. Therasage does not sell replacement power cords at this point, which they really ought to do; it would be so much less expensive (and wasteful) just to buy a new power cord. I've tried contacting them, but the company seems to be in disarray currently. The pads are on backorder from most of their retailers right now. I'm really hoping that this company gets its act together and starts giving better customer service because I think this pad is the best option for people like me right now.

Broke in 3 weeks
This product is a severe let down from the advertised hype. Mine broke three weeks after I received it, in March 2015. Barry said it was my homes electricity fluctuations that made the heating pad fail and I would have to send it back at my expense. Even if that made much sense, this situation happens enough for the problem to be a known problem but they do not incorporate preemptive electrical regulators to insure a quality product or experience for their customers. Nor does it sound like one will be installed once they feel like a problem has been identified.I was told that I must put my heating pad on its own surge protector (nothing else plugged into it at the same time) and also in its own outlet in the wall. Seems a bit touchy for the expense, I didn't realize I was buying such a problem product. Those kinds of specifications should be outlined in specks, don't ya think.I feel like it is irresponsible to send their product out and wait to see which heating pads break and if the customer will even contact them about it. I was offered a free heating pad "cover" for my trouble; I'm just curious why for the cost does it not come with that any way? They refused to send me a return shipping box or label, they did not even get my name and number so as to follow up with me should a problem arise. I advise finding another heating pad option. This one is not worth the expense of the pad or the customer service experience. At this point the trash bin seems like the best final destination for my broken heating pad and my dashed expectations.
