Protects against mutant lawns!
We had a new lawn "installed" this year from turf that we laid at the end of April, just as the drought started. Yay.We carefully put a small paved area around our bird feeders. Forethought! Yay. We even placed a few terracotta pots there to catch dropped seeds. Decor! Yay.Birds don't care. They pick through the seeds in feeders searching for that perfect seed and chuck the rest, with some degree of enthusiasm I might add, around the local area. The pots catch a lot, the stones save a few from going onto the lawn, but a few still get there and have grown into some pretty weird things at times, and we don't want our lawn to be weird. So we've gone to this "no grow" formula that hopefully will keep our grass looking grassy and classy. Part of the trick seems to be that there are a lot fewer whole seeds in the mix, if any - it is mainly non-germinating bits in there. This means in practice that there are some birds that no longer show up near the feeders for a couple of reasons. The first is that there are some birds that really seem to want seeds; bluetits and other birds of that family don't come to the feeders half as much as they used to. There's also a lot less droppage and "chuckage" of food, which means that the ground feeders like robins and blackbirds don't come around to forage for the seeds that other birds have dropped. "Our" robins don't even use the feeders as they've been doing, so using this mix has altered the balance of the birds that use our feeding area. We're faced with the notion that the feeders will need to be for birds such as sparrows (that love the no-grow formula) and we'll need to lay down feeds for the other birds that drop by, because they're now a bit short-changed around here!So yes, the no-grow mix works as advertised, but it will also change the mix of birds that drop by. Mixed blessings, I guess. Hopefully this review has been helpful, even if only giving some ideas about using paving and pots to catch debris!Update: As the year ended we'd still not seen any problems with weird weeds growing in the area around the feeders, so I think we're in the clear so far as this seed goes. It's immensely popular with sparrows and robins, and even the blue/great/marsh/coal tits we get around here will come to the hanging feeders, especially when the weather gets a bit harsh. You will always need to vary the feeds available if you want a greater variety, but this does a great job for the more common garden birds. We're finding that our feeders, which spend most daylight hours occupied by several birds, get through a 20kg sack about every two months.

You pay for what you get.
If you want you bird food to look more like sawdust then this is the one to buy.I've just wasted £17.40 on something that looks more like sawdust or porridge oatmeal. The seed has been crushed to bits! The birds just throw it everywhere. With the other make I usually buy any scattered on the floor the Dunnocks finish off. Not so with this rubbish. Not sure what to do with it. The birds don't want it and neither do I!

waste of money,do not buy
Rubbish ! DO NOT BUY. Of course it doesn't grow most of the seeds have ground to dust. I put it out in the morning and when I collect the dishes most of it is uneaten because its crushed and so it ends up in the compost bin. its more like granary bread flour than bird food. I enjoy watching the birds and squirrels in the garden but they leave more of this than they eat I shall never buy this brand again and I don't understand how anyone would give this a good review .In fact I can't understand why this company would market a product like this . I can only think that something went wrong with the machine is used to crack the husk but whatever the reason it should not have been put on sale in this condition .

So far so good READ UPDATE!
Bought it by accident instead of Peckish (the same price)So far I can't complain. Grain selection similar to Peckish Complete but Peckish grain is slightly larger. This one is 'more broken' but, I can see birds like it. I have family of robins with 4 fledging s in my garden and that still feed them with this grainBtw, surprised by extra flower seeds sent by seller foc - that will be planted in flower pots!UPDATE:I JUST ORDERED 6TH BAG OF THIS GRAIN. BIRDS KOVE IT! The bags are very strong so I can reuse them for different purposes (e.g. collecting rubbish from beaches or my local river banks)

BIRDS LOVE THIS EXCELLENT NO GROWTH BIRDSEED
This is my 3rd purchase of Gardman No Grow Seed Mix. As soon as I fill their dish the birds swoom down and enjoy every single seed. Nothing is left. We have quite a selection of birds, Wrens, Robins, Housemartins, Blue Tits, Coal Tits, Sparrows, Blackbirds, Thrushes, Starlings, Crows, Wood Pigeons, to name a few and all of them feed 24/7 throughout the day and have nested in our garden for several years. It is a privilege watching the parents bring their young each day to the bird table area and feed each one of their young, mouths agape & twittering. I have purchased most other bird seeds on sale here and this is the only one that all of the birds prefer, eating up every single seed. The bird table is clean each morning. Should any seed fall to the ground there is ‘no’ growth. This is has proven to be the best birdseed & whilst the birds clean up their dish, this is the birdseed we will keep buying.

Very happy garden visitors 🥰
I bought this bird food against some review advise and I'm glad I did. I have a wide range of constant garden visitors from Wood pigeons to little Tunnocks . I usually buy a cheaper mix and have a lot of waste. Although a little more expensive I hardly had any leftovers at all . So I bought a 20kg after this one .Personally I am very happy with the quality of this bird food .Many thanks 😊

Birds love it
A massive sack of bird food to top up my bird feeders. It looks like porridge oats but the birds love it. I get no end of sparrows & blue tits and a robin feeding off this in my inner city garden. Also a squirrel that hangs upside down to use the feeder and some wood pigeons that wait underneath for the bits that the little birds flick out.

This is total rubbish
This is mostly dust and small bits of flakes that the bird will not eat. More than 50% of it ends up on the ground where it just lays without being eaten. This is without doubt the worst bird food I have ever come across. If I want to return it I have to pay to post this giant bag of rubbish back!
