CoolarooUmbrella Base, Water Base for Backyard and Patio Umbrellas, Pack of 4

This contains four panels sufficient with just water to anchor an 11-foot offset umbrella in moderate gusts. Fine paver finishing sand will be heavier (instructions say just over 46 lbs. each) and when we are certain of the umbrella's final location that' what we'll use.I filled these easily in the pool lounging on all four like kickboards. Be careful with the caps- one seemed to want to cross-thred but I didn't rush and finally it gave no resistance. My fear would be opening a slow leak, since the caps are on the side.I am also thinking about connecting the caps with something rust and rot proof so the umbrella's slight movement doesn't eventually spread these enough to let the cross stand break free. There is nothing keeping them together and they only weigh down a 1-inch strip long each side of the cross.The plastic is heavy and the top is braced so it won't eventually break open. They look good too with a low profile.

These are okay if your base has a perfect cross. Mine is more of a T shape, and so they don't fully cover the base of my umbrella stand. That is not this products fault, but mine for not recognizing that. But just be careful that your base is more of a X than a T.

Works well. I suggest filling each with sand rather than water, which tends to slowly leak over a couple of weeks.

It hold perfectly the 12 feet umbrella of the same brand. We use water in summer and will be using dirt when the freezing time is here. I bought them used and they did not leak. It creates a very large base for the umbrella, make sure you have the room for it.

Used as base for cantilevered umbrella

I bought these last summer and only had used them for a few months before emptying them to store in the garage over the winter. I recall putting them away last summer and being surprised that two out of four were empty. Two out of four of these have leaks so that water does not stay inside. I don't know when the leaks started, but I discovered the leaks after just a few months This makes them pretty much useless.

Bought these 18 months ago, still holding up, and holding up my umbrella. We walk over them often but no leaks or other issues.

1 Base leaks. In fact in the box I found a note that I guess a previous purchaser had put in there saying that a base had a leak so apparently she returned them. Gale Pacific just took them back, must not have opened the box and then shipped them right back out. Guess I was the unlucky receiver. Wow!!
