The Stratocaster Continues: The Sixth Decade of the Fender Strat

Useful Update
Tom Wheeler’s follow up to The Stratocaster Chronicles is a slim volume that reads more like a collection of magazine articles than an overall account of the Strat’s last 10 years. However, it is quite comprehensive, covering numerous artist signature models and the new Vintage series as well as the variety of commemorative guitars released for the 60th anniversary. Of course there are also plenty of Custom Shop models as well. The photographs are superb. I am not so much of a fan of the interviews. Overall it is a welcome appendix to the original volume, though lacking an update of that book’s marvellous cd which would have been an excellent inclusion. If Mr Wheeler decides to do a similar update to his Fender amp book, can we have a cd please?

Pleasant
It's an overpriced, soft cover, coffee table book with lots of pretty pictures. Has some interesting info about a few models of Stratocasters.

not much in new info
I know it was a supplement to the hard cover but not much in updated information. It should be valued at much less in price

If you like history and knowledge of their different models
This is essential Fender Stratocaster reading. If you like history and knowledge of their different models, buy it. The book made me happy.

Worth grabbing
Good book great if you have the others. Great for fender nuts like myself. Tone Amp book is great to add to this and the first 50yrs book.

Got the Strat, read the book, bought another Strat!
A very good reference and history of this wonderful instrument, a model I have played myself for getting on for half a century - and just when you think you've heard and seen it all, you learn a whole lot more about your cherished dream machine. I also went out and bought a 50's reissue, so that was either inspiration or midlife crisis, I'm not sure which, but the book gets read, and the Strat gets played! Great purchases!

Not the full 60 years, just the 6th Decade of the Stratocaster Chronicles.
Bought by mistake thinking it was a later version of the original Stratocaster Chronicles, I didn't realise that it was an additional supplement covering the 6th Decade only. My Bad!Book is actually okay though and compliments the original nicely.

Great Continuation
If your a Fender fan and have any of the other Tom Wheeler books on the subject then this is a must. Its well illustrated, albeit thin but excellent nevertheless. Recommended to all Fender Folk.

An excellent addition to the 5th decade book
The book is a good accompaniment to the previous 5th decade book. Well laid out with very good pictures and information.
