2 plus years of service, still grinding strong, whether it’s cold brew or espresso, grinding daily.
At first glance, this is an awesome grinder. Granted, it’s not really pretty like some of the other grinders, but i believe it will grind my coffee to my specification. I use a stove -top brewer for espresso. I got used to this type of brewing when I spent two months in Spain. This grinder is a “bur” style grinder. Whole beans must be used. “Bur” style grinders are the best for getting the grind that you need for brewing espresso. I haven’t ground any beans yet, but ill update this review when that happens. The thing that swung me over to purchase this brand, over the other cheaper brands, was the fact that the seller advertised that this machine’s motor is 60Hz, which is our correct current cycles. The others had 50Hz, which will cause their motors to heat up. Believe me, I spent 3 years in China on a project and all the equipment we brought over from the US was 60Hz and you could tell the differences on how everything performed. I researched all the same looking grinders on the Amazon site and all the others came with 50Hz motors or they didn’t specify. Electricity at 50Hz will cause the motors to turn at more rpm than the one equipped with a 60Hz motor. This was the only seller to state 50Hz for the motor. Cost was a few dollars more, but i think the performance will be much betterMy only criticism of this particular model is the container/bins. I wish it was not so dark for the catching container/bin, but wish it were lighter, clear one and that the top whole bean container/bin was tinted with a similar color. It would’ve been nice to tell when the bottom container/bin, when it's full. It’s so dark, way too dark, to see the ground bean’s level. It’s a small criticism, but otherwise, I like the looks. Very industrial. The other thing that struck me was that this style of grinder had fuse holder built into the grinder. The other competitor’s model, do not have a fuse feature. That’s a great feature and should save the motor from over heating.I just ran a test batch of beans through the “fine” setting and the bean powder was fine. Very NICE! The grounds came out Fine. The other reviewer who said his wasn’t very fine, should have his/her machine re-calibrated. I am sure this Is the problem. I am very pleased at what this grinder can do and how quiet it is when grinding beans. The price is spot on and delivery was quick (4 days). The only thing was, there was no replacement bar in my box. I emailed Customer Service and had a quick response. Amazon is sending me one out. I love their Prime service. Worth every penny.

Great grinder for the price
Well after 5 or 6 years my $20 coff\spice grinder crapped th bed. (I think I got my money's worth). After doing some comparative shopping I picked this for the price and type of grinder. Never actually having used an actual single purpose coffee grinder I have to say I am impressed. Being a strictly French press user I was never able to get the grind quite right that is until now. This machine is almost every thing I had hoped for. The noise level is very low (I am sure my neighbors appreciate that) the grind is perfect the only drawback that I have found is there is no quantity regulation although the grind is adjustable from espresso fine to French Press course there is no way to set the amount needed except by turning the machine off, not a major big deal if your a good guesser or happened to have saved the measuring cup from my broken grinder. Other than that it perfectly meets my needs. Well worth the cost and comparable to the way more expensive units. Now to answer a few of the questions that where asked and went unanswered. The magnet at the end of the discharge shuts is there to catch any small metal filings that may have been in with your beans or perhaps come from your machine during a malfunction. The rectangular piece of metal I found this stuffed in a hole in the Styrofoam this appears to be what is called a key and is used to provide a connection between the electric motor and the grinder. The replacement is in case your grinder becomes jammed by a foreign object, the key is most likely designed to shear in two protecting both the grinder and the motor. Hope this helps.

Best Burr grinder in price range
I'm giving this 5 stars because, in its price range, I think it could be one of the best, if not the best, cheap Burr grinder option available on Amazon, so I want it to have more reviews and a high star average. It's pretty quiet, it grinds consistently sized grounds in a wide range of sizes, and it's attractive. It's also heavier than it looks, which is usually a good sign for things with motors. If you're like me, you're currently shopping for something to have fresh Burr-ground coffee at home for your drip coffeemaker, your pour-over setup, your French press, whatever, but you're not a serious coffee snob. You just like good coffee and don't want a cheap blade-grinder piece of junk. This right here is the best bang for your buck and gets you mostly to shop-quality grounds without spending $100+. It can get a little messy with delivery, but that's about the only drawback I can think of - just wipe them all away, takes 10 seconds. You shouldn't be disappointed if you buy this.

Nice enough
Works well enough for fine, medium and course grinds. Class retro industrial look.Wish hopper was clear so you could see the amount of grounds.Major issue with bean feed funnel. There is no lock mechanism so when you take cover off to add more beans any beans left in funnelSpill onto floor. It needs some sort of gasket to firm up the seal. Fixed the issue with some black electrical tape at the junction. Firms up the funnel for the time being.Nice enough machine and functional but would not buy again.

The media could not be loaded.
