TevraPet Actispot 2 Flea Treatment for Small & Medium Cats 5-9 lbs, 6 Doses

I have 3 cats. Inevitably, every year some fleas hitch hike into the house, and I become aware of it when I get bit and the cats are scratching. This is my go to solution after much experience. It is effective, and a good value for the money and breaks the fleas life cycle. It doesn't happen like going through a drive thru as people expect. It normally takes 2 monthly applications to derail the flea lifecycle. Anything harsher would be too hard on the cat. I do wish the packaging would be refined so that the applicator was easier to use, as has been said by others.

I feel it works as well as the name brand product for a cheaper price. I have used this brand for 2 years and haven't had a flea. It hasn't caused any side effects for my cats.

Upon opening the package, you'll find individually packaged, small, individual packets inside. Each dose of the deworming medicine is sealed in its own plastic wrapper. Cheaper than name brands and my cats are flea free!

I have a full grown cat (5 years old) that's very petite so I'm glad that an at-home flea treatment exists which caters to small cats. She doesn't seem to experience any negative side effects but I only use it on her every 5-6 weeks, and only during the spring and summer, and that's been effective enough to keep the fleas at bay and to keep her from scratching herself too much. However .... I'm really unhappy with the application method. It's messy and I hate the dumb plastic tubes you have to cut open. They leave sharp edges that can easily scratch my cat if she jerks away from me while I'm applying it on her. They're not an efficient way to apply the medicine safely and cleanly. Even worse, some of the tubes do not contain the proper amount of liquid, which is just wild. I've been using this stuff for a long time so this is something I've noticed on several occasions. For the amount of money they charge for this stuff, they really need to improve their quality control, especially since it can be harmful to small cats if there's too much of it in a tube.

I usually use Advantage, but needed to find a cheaper alternative. A couple of hours after applying the product to my cats, could not find any fleas on my fur babies and ones I did see was moving slowly.

I really wanted to like this product. My cats all normally get Advantage II and I went to the TevraPet website and compared the ingredients side by side. I read the package insert and there was NO mention of massive hair loss or allergic reaction at all. Within days of the first application, he started scratching and clumps of hair were falling out at the root! It kept getting worse with the thinning hair beginning at the base of the neck where I applied the product, then all the way around the side and stopping at the bottom under hs chin like that's where it dripped. This cat is allergic to everything and is on Depo to control allergies, yet this happened anyway! He's never had any kind of reaction to Advantage II. This stuff is NOT the same no matter what the company says. Coincidentally (or not) he also developed a mysterious bladder inflammation at the same time. Urine test came back clear of bacteria and crystals and his kidney values were the same as his last test in January. Crying in the litterbox, pain while urinating, and hair loss all within a week of applying this product. I'm livid. ...He is an indoor cat, regularly at the vet with all issues under control, and then this. Do not buy this product. I read the good reviews and thought the bad ones were just like with any product but don't take the chance with your cat. I know everyone wants a cheaper generic because these flea medications are ridiculously overpriced but don't risk putting your cat through this. I feel horrible. My other two were fine--just the one cat prone to serious allergies and asthma had the reaction and he has never had a reaction to Advantage II. The products are clearly NOT the same, regardless of what the company or insert literature says
