I love this fountain
I love this fountain! The coloring and design of the fountain are very attractive. The light at the base adds some character too. I covered the light up with some of the small rocks to mute the intensity and it looks great now. The sound is pleasant and loud enough to sooth the nerves and the motor runs quietly. The fountain does splash water at times but I solved my concerns by placing the fountain on my desk on a spare floor tile. The tile blends well with the look of the fountain and I don't have to worry about water spots. A great purchase!

This fountain is a piece of crap.
The only reason I am giving this one star is because zero stars is not an option. It is a total piece of crap. It is very poorly designed. As soon as you turn it on, water starts splashing out of the fountain onto whatever surface it is on. No matter what you do, it is impossible to make the water stop splashing out. It is a total failure as a tabletop fountain unless you want to ruin your furniture with a huge puddle of water. Whatever you do, do not buy this item. There are lots of other fountains to choose from. Choose any one but this.

Recommended, with a couple caveats...
Works (and looks) great, but has issues. First, there really aren't any instructions; there's some nebulous paperwork, incuding a troubleshooting guide and a parts list, but no actual instructions, per se. If you've never owned one of these before, there's a concern about what can be submerged in water and what can't, since water and electricity don't usually get along too well. After throwing caution to the wind, than there's the issue about how much water to put in the catch basin. As stated in a previous review, the basin holds somewhere between 1 and 1¾ cups of water; the issue here is... what's the right amount? Too much and the pump gets loud, "thinking" it has to pump too much water. Not enough, and it will spit air eventually. Related to that, is what level of water will cause the fountain to operate quietly. With that, here's my take, right or wrong... first, the connections are all water-safe...so far, so most everything can be submerged. If you don't feel comfortable with just jamming everything in the catch basin, all you need to know is that the pump has to be submerged, and everyhthing else is solid and secure enough to withstand water. Second, I'd start with about 1 cup of water, adding water gradually until all six spigots at top are flowing smoothly, to break in the fountain. Though that might cause the pump to make some noise at first (especially being break-in period), it at least gets everything working, and through visual monitoring, gives you an idea of how often you need to add water. Let it operate until it gets quiet (depends upon environment, mainly humiidity), then add a little water... maybe one or two tablespoons... you want to ensure the tray (at top) is full at all times (for the actual fountain effect), but you don't need all six spigots to be flowing fully at all times; you simply want to fountain effect to be there, with water cascading down the "rock wall" in an even and constant manner.Personally, I leave the light uncovered (nice effect, IMO, especially projecting onto the ceiling), and use a large washcloth as a base; there's a very small amount of splatter (all caused by the spigot hitting the water in the tray at top), so most anything will do. As long as you add water sparingly when needed, and take care of the fountain (haven't yet tried distilled water, or a "cleaner", but since the water filters through stones, it makes sense that some material will eventually accumulate inside the water flow mechanisms), it should make a nice addition to any environment.

It is very very small - photo deceiving
It is a tinie tiny fountain. The photo is deceiving. It holds about a coffee cup worth of water. Definitely deceived by the photo. Not sure who finds a fountain this small very useful unless you have absolutely no space, or you want to just stick this on a shelf. Sending back.

Durable
This fountain has lasted me over a year (the longest any fountain has lasted me). I don't know if it is because I only use distilled water, but it has never needed to be descaled or deep cleaned. The motor is a little louder than I care for but you get used to it.

Terrible Fountain
Very cheap material, all plastic. Pump is very loud and I could not get it to work properly. I do not recommend purchasing this fountain.

Very Nice Small Fountain--But Read Review for Tips on Using It
This is a really nice small fountain. It helps with the feng shui in my house, grounding the center for this year, with running water. The water reservoir is small, so it does take filling just about every day unless you live in a humid environment. The difference between full and empty is less than half a cup.A couple of notes for those who are not old hands (as I am) with fountains:Put it on a tray or a plate. This will catch overflow when you fill it. It holds approx 1, 3/4 cups of water. With only 1 cup, the pump makes a lot of noise, sucking air. With it full, it does spatter some, so the tray catches spatters. I also put a larger stone in front of the LED, so it doesn't glare into the room when you look directly at the fountain. And check the water every day, if you're in a dry (air conditioned) environment, so it doesn't run dry. I like to use only distilled water--it is also sterile, so it reduces algae (slime) growth. Clean the pump and the fountain at least every two weeks and change the water completely. Note the model number of the pump, so you can just replace the pump when it goes bad, but with luck and diligent filling and cleaning, it should last a couple of years in my experience.Again, I really like this fountain for its size and how it blends with my decor!
