Convenient product
I would like to stress that this product was a bit tricky to install the first time because my notebook did not have a drive in it previously and I was unsure of how to install this one. You may think it is strange or silly, but the truth is that if one side is inserted first, then it sits accordingly.I have absolutely no complaints about this item as it makes it extremely convenient to install a HDD or SSD, format it, install an operating system, and boot from it. Equally, you can install and remove your drives as you see fit without worrying that it will be stolen. The same is said about the normal hdd slot.I do recommend this item if you do not use disc drives anymore and if you want to expand of drive space and conduct transfers in a simplified manner.I do add and warn that the speed is not as fast at USB-3 or Firewire, but it is convenient nonetheless.

update - absolute POS - unreliable, corrupts your HDD and a throw away item - would not recommendoriginal - just received it and very disappointed to say the cheaply made face plates are fragile plastic and already cracked when received ... does fit slot very snug and proper size as advertised but almost impossible to remove without further damage to faceplates - I would recommend you look elsewhere especially for the price charged

Works as expected.
There didn't seem to be any way to use screws to secure the drive the screw wholes don't leave any clearance for drive to fit into the bay. But, screws are unnecessary, because there's a spacer that holds the drive in.

Not great but works!
Fits my Dell e6410 well. The plastic does not match 100% but I hardly look at the sides of the computer anyway. Its a bit tricky to get the drive in without breaking the fragile case. I'm hesitant to place the temporary disk I put in while I waited for the new one to arrive.The latch to remove the drive does NOT pull out like the oem dvd drive.Pros: works, cheapCons: cheap materials, generic fit.

Doesn't fit the Dell E6410. This has the wrong tab at the back to fit the Dell E6410. I didn't realize this until I tried it a couple of weeks ago when I wanted to use it. (I did not get the bare drive I wanted until much later after this came in) only to find out that it doesn't work and can't be returned since I'm past the 30 day return window.
