MegaHitch Lock Coupler Vault Pro with 2" ball (Red)

the installation instructions that come with it are UTTERLY PATHETIC - and i'm a mechanic... in the installation instructions online they show an image of a ball that fits snugly up inside the coupler, but that's for the expensive model and not what you get with the cheaper yellow model (i have a 1 7/8" coupler so i had to get the cheaper yellow one) - you get a WORTHLESS CARRIAGE BOLT that does NOT fit snugly up inside the coupler... and the diagram on the instructions that came in the box is nothing like the diagram online (which is for the expensive model) - no installation instructions online for the cheaper yellow one... the instructions that came with the yellow one show the nut tightened up against the top of the carriage bolt with a small washer between the nut and the top of the carriage-bolt (not under the nut and tightened down on the base as in the online diagram for the expensive one), but the washer that came with mine is huge (3 times bigger than the diagram shows) - so big it doesn't fit up inside the coupler and no telling where it's supposed to go, above or below the nut... after spending 30 minutes trying to adjust it, there is still so much play that i can almost pull off the coupler with my bare hands... this wouldn't be the case if it was a BALL that was up inside the coupler instead of an absurd CARRIAGE BOLT and a humongous washer... if it fit correctly, the actual box is sturdy and heavy-duty, and there is a round collar that is loose and goes around the base of the carriage bolt that might prevent someone sawing off the bolt - if they could get a saw blade inside the box... nice design if you want to shell out twice as much for the expensive one and get an actual BALL that fits inside the coupler - but i'm sending mine with the CARRIAGE BOLT and the WORTHLESS INSTRUCTIONS (that must have been written by a 10 year old) back... note that online they don't show you what the inside of the cheaper yellow one looks like - no wonder with a CARRIAGE BOLT instead of a ball... and i have a feeling all the 5-star reviews are for the more expensive model with a BALL instead of a CARRIAGE BOLT...

I didn't believe how protective it was until I tried it. Watched the youtube but I was still skeptical. My wife and I embarked on a 6k mile journey with our trusty trailer over the summer. Some of the areas were more remote and I wanted to make sure the trailer was there when we got back. This Coupler Vault did the job. It is so much more secure than any of the junk master locks, husky, valley, etc that I had tried previously. Its bright yellow too so people can see it from 50 feet away easily. Highly recommended. Hope they keep making these and don't cheapen the design.

It's a coupler, not much to say about it!

This is a quality product. You can watch You Tube videos of people trying to dismantle this device. I feel my trailer is safe with this, and hope it proves to be an adequate antitheft device.

These are probably the best trailer locks available on the market now. I have one on each of my trailers and I do sleep and work better knowing they are on them.

Feels strong, looks strong, looks alone I think deter some thief's. It makes me sleep better at night.

Very happy with this purchase. More expensive then other locks but I think well worth it for the security of your investment.
