Review: One of the best readers around! - I must admit, my kindergartener and I are great fans of the Step Into Reading series of books. Since my daughter had completed the Step 2 books in the Step Into Reading series of books, I decided to go ahead and purchase the Step 3 books. I was a bit hesitant because I noticed there is quite a big leap between the Step 2 and Step 3 books, especially in terms of vocabulary and sentence structure. The vocabulary is more advanced with higher order words, and the sentences are longer. I was also concerned that my daughter might not like the topics which seemed to be more 'academic' with history-based stories. My worries were unfounded. She loves the books and is reading them with very little help from me (and I enjoy listening to the stories!) These books are excellent for building children's reading skills as well as increasing their confidence in reading. Once you've completed the Step 1 and Step 2 books (I would advise proceeding level by level), the Step 3 books are not as daunting as they might first appear. In "Eat My Dust!", children are introduced to Henry Ford and learn about his contributions. The illustrations enhance the story and add a fun element which will appeal to young children. I can't recommend these books highly enough - they are great for building reading skills, and also educational. This book is a great introduction to history, and I also came up with a series of short comprehension questions based on the story in this book so as to hone my daughter's comprehension skills (e.g. "What sort of vehicle did Henry Ford drive?", "What event did Henry Ford participate in?", etc. ). These books are not only great intermediate readers but might also inculcate in children a great love of history. Review: Great Book for Little Readers - This is my four-year-old daughter’s favorite book. I think she feels grown up reading about real people, and it lends itself to reading with expression, which she enjoys. And it’s a good book for her to read out loud to adults, because it’s actually interesting. Each book in the whole biographical collection seems to pick up on a lesser-known but fascinating story. This one tells the story of Henry Ford entering and winning his first car race so that he could finance the Ford Motor Company and manufacture the Model T. My daughter now calls her little sister (Elizabeth) “Lizzie” after Ford’s Tin Lizzie. It’ll be a fun nickname story if it sticks.

Grandson loved it
My Grandson has trouble finding books he likes at his reading level. This is well-written, unlike many books on the market. He likes building things, and is fairly competitive, so this book was a hit with him

Great story and pictures
I bought this for my Grandson, and I read it before mailing to him. This is a fun and factual story. I think he will like it a lot. Happy to have picked this one up for him!

Hooray for Henry Ford
This whole series of books are good, and reasonably historically accurate. The reason I like this one is because it was exciting enough to grab the interest of my reluctant reader grandson. He "had to read 10 minutes a day", and he tortured through them one word at a time. As this book got into the race section, he realized it was a story and paid attention to what he was reading. He has read better and enjoyed books since then. Needless to say, I have bought him, his brother and sister more of the books in this series.

The language and words within seconds attract the children along the illustrations. He read it himself almost everytime he feels like.

Grandson had bought a library book from school on cars, and it had the model t ford in it, I had just received this book and it was very appropiate story the book is just the right length, with actual photo of the race in the back. these type of stories are a good introduction to various subjects. Grandson is 7 and felt this was just right for him
