Great All-Around Watch
I had one of these watches and I took it through the ringer, one day the band got caught in some strange position and snapped. Naturally that was the end of my first one. So I took to Amazon to buy the very same watch, if that doesn't speak volumes then I don't know what will. I think the main selling point of this watch is its functionality combined with its durability. I use it as my everyday watch, I'm often caught in the middle of running around trying to catch meeting all whilst planning more. So it's nice to have the date and time conveniently there without having to look at my phone. I also wear it when I go to workout, the stopwatch feature helps between sets or when going out on a run. Not to mention you can hop in the shower without taking it off due to the water resistance. The vibration alarm is one of my favorite functions on the whole watch. It's not enough to wake you up out of a deep sleep of course, but definitely strong enough to wake you from say a quick nap. I tend to use it most when I'm cooking. That way I can get other things done around the house without having to be within earshot of a timer. I'm 24 so my group of friends more often than not mistake it for a G-Shock which isn't exactly the worst thing in the world. It's a stylish watch for the price paid. That being said it's obviously not the kind of watch you necessarily want to pair with say a dress shirt due to its height. All in all, I would without a doubt recommend this watch to someone who needed a "do it all" kind of watch. You really can't go wrong with this watch for that price, plus it's Casio.

Will have one forever!
I first bought one of these watches back in 2016, and in my opinion and for my needs it is the best non-smart watch produced anywhere. Super simple, easy to read. My two favorite features are the vibration alarm and the dual time zones. The strap has been the first thing to fail in the past, but I'm admittedly a little tough on these watches, so its really not a fault. They each lasted several years before needing replacement and should not be a concern.

Great, dependable good looking watch.
Casio is definately a company to be depended on. Have had Casios for over three decades. The last longer than the fassions change so no worries. This watch tells the time, easy to to adjust, has a really nice feature I have not met before on a wrist watch which is a silent alarm that just vibrates for about ten seconds on your wrist - comes in useful for waking up without bothering or waking up my wife, or for alarms during meetings. The light is bright (be aware it is white light (in case you are using this in a military setting). The size is nice. Large enough for a grown man's wrist with good size numbers (for those of us over 50 where reading starts becoming an issue). The wrist band sits nicely, and even when sweating during excercise or hiking - does not feel sticky or uncomfortable. It only comes in black without other color options. While not a G-shock - it seems pretty rugged and has been banged around quite a bit. The look is very similar to that of G-shock. More sporty than elegant. I don't like smart/sports watches because of the need to charge them- This one cans stay on the wrist for ten years without a problem.

Great Watch - didn't vibrate ME awake, but neither did the Timex equivalent
I love getting up early, and would prefer not to wake my wife (or bunk-mates when I'm camping w guys). A vibration alarm makes sense. So I purchased the Timex T49851 Expedition, along with the Casio equivalent, the W735H-1AVCF. This is a review of both. They are within dollars of one another. LOOKS - Personally I think the Timex looks more modern, more "socially acceptable" if you're inclined to wear it in many situations. The Casio is a great G-Shock-like look. Whatever criteria Casio places upon naming a watch a G-Shock, this watch is not. Still, it looks tough and I would think it is tough enough. WEIGHT - Both watches are lightweight - the new durable resins simply do not require weight for strength. Don't despair over lightweight with either. DISPLAY - The display on the Timex is much larger and all functions are easier to see, although the smaller LCD digits of the Casio are bolder. Still, I prefer the Timex because I never had to squint at little icons or labels. OPERATION AND PROGRAMMING - Both are fine. You fiddle with them, you read a little of the manuals, you'll do fine. The Timex functions with Timex functionality, the Casio with Casio functionality. I do prefer the Casio's instant changeover to another function when you press a button. The Timex will, for example, display "CHRONO" and then go into the chrono mode. No biggee. ALARMS AND FEATURES - The Timex has more, so many more in fact that you have the option to hide some of them (which I did, although I still kept more readily available than were offered on the Casio). WAKING YOU UP - They differ here. The Casio beeps (or vibrates, OR COMBINATION) - and the vibration is 7 vibrations, and the beep is pretty loud. The Timex (I returned it, so I am speaking from recent memory) vibrates 5 times and then a short while later (sort of like a reminder) vibrates 5 times again. I do not think the Casio provides for a combination vibrate/beep event. Another point to note is that on the Timex in combo mode, the vibration goes off first, giving you a chance to awake and shut it off prior to the beeping (waking maybe you and folks around you). FRUSTRATION FOR ME - I sleep like an appliance unplugged from the wall. I wore both watches to sleep (different nights, and/or set them for different times). NEITHER successfully woke me (by vibration only) out of a sound sleep. There's a new Casio being offered (more costly) called the GD350. It has a vibration alarm. I do not expect it to be a whole lot more vibration-effective than this Casio, which I returned. Perhaps I am wrong in that expectation. I do still like the potential to quietly vibrate me into some notification DURING THE DAY, when I am around folks, so the vibration alarm remains a nice feature, on either watch. BATTERY LIFE - Here's where the Casio wins hands-down. The Casio tells us it has a TEN YEAR battery. I LOVE that! The Timex is likely a year or two or three, depending upon how many times you ask it to vibrate, beep, etc. Ten years is a wonderful thing for a watch battery, and if longevity of function is your priority, the Casio wins hands-down. BTW - the new Casio GD350 says the battery is good for 5 years. Still pretty excellent. All of the watch instructions tell you battery life is based upon usage of function. MY BOTTOM LINE - I am wearing the Timex. I returned the Casio. They are both great watches. I still wish a vibrating alarm watch could wake ME up, but likely it would need to be 110 volt-powered, plugged into the wall, activating a kitchen blender motor strapped to my wrist.

Best Casio watch out there for your money! A budget minded G Shock from Casio.
Finally, an affordable G Shock ! Seriously, I own several Casio GShock watches, but I was looking for something rugged enough to replace a mudman that was looking rough from the wear of my daily activity over the last 5 years. This watch had the look, the buttons are easier to activate, a vibration alarm built into it, slightly larger display of time than the mudman and it was available for right at twenty bucks. I figured I could buy 3 to 4 of these for the cost of another mudman so why not give one a try. After several months of daily wear, I haven't found that the easier to push buttons have lead to any inadvertent button activation. The light button is a lot easier to activate when you want too. The watch has held up very well to being banged around on rough surfaces, heat, sweat, cold ect. What I have found is that the face of the watch uses a material that is most likely less scratch resistant than the average G-shock, but it's also closer to being flush than a G Shock so that maybe deceiving. After 6 months of wear, I have two very small scratches on the watch face. Other than that, no wear and tear concerns. I do wish Casio would have stepped up to the metal buckle/clasp on the band, it's the only "shortfall" of the watch design compared to a G Shock that I would have appreciated. The plastic buckle/clasp has held up fine so far but the metal buckle clasp on G Shock watches feels and appears to be substantially more rugged/durable. If you are an active person in your line of work, Law Enforcement/Firefighter/Military/Hardworking American, and you are looking for a nice durable digital watch, this is the watch you've been hunting for.

One of the best Casios ever
Great watch, worth all the hype 100m of water resistance is good for anybody in any situation instead of diving and the like also a 10 year battery youโll never worry about for a while. The watch vibration is so much better than the beep most Casios have and it looks great like a g shock for half the price and half the wr

just what I expected
It is a very good watch, it has a standard size (not too big, not too small) and it has the necessary functions (stopwatch, timer, alarm, vibration, water resistant, etc. Its sporty style is great.

decent entry level rugged watch with comfortable plastic bands *updated after 26 months*
**24 month update @ 5/2018** = the shorter end of the wrist strap (the side with the plastic buckle) ended up developing 1 full width + 2 half width cracks on the underside (the side that rests on your arm). the exterior of both straps seemed to wear fine. the full width crack is one of those bends where you can see it completely break off if the angle of movement was too much, so i just replaced both short and long straps with a spare - which i learned is very hard to find online and when they are available they are anywhere from $17-22 for just the straps. after changing the straps, the watch was good to go. one thing i noticed on the crystal is that there are some chemical etches on the surface that does not clean or nail buff off. most likely the culprit is consumer grade insect repellent - no fault of the watch, just something to watch out for if you need insect repellent often. once i noticed this reaction, i started removing the watch during sunblock and insect repellent application. ******************************************************************************************************** original review: after 1 month in of weekly weekend use, it's been holding up well. i bought this watch specifically for pool, beach and water use. so far, it's also been used during the gym, shadetree mechanics and light furniture moving. pros: + the watch is very comfortable, i was hoping the silicone bands would be more comfortable water side than metal case and metal bands (in the sun) + crystal is only acrylic but the crystal bezel seems to do a good job at protection ( this was a LARGE concern as a lot of new casio owners reported that most newer models don't have glass crystals) + price was affordable for the stopwatch function and water resist + easy to depress buttons but not accidental prone (like other cheap clones) + fairly rugged for Occasional use. unfortunately, i've already dropped it twice on tile from 3+feet. I would not buy this sub $25.00 watch as an active/outdoor/commercial user. if your job is playing with construction, demolition, police/ambo/fire response, this watch is NOT for you. this is a LIGHT duty watch and great for people who hang out at desks/offices all day and does some non-sedentary activities once-in-while. cons: - the face of the watch looks very thick from the side (but seems like the thickness does add to the protection), so don't be surprised that your long sleeved cuffs/shirts/jackets/sweater will get caught on the watch.

Love this watch!
Bought this watch for the vibration alarm and that works great! I've used it now for about 10 months and the vibration alarm has only failed to wake me up around 3 times and these were occassions where I was particularily exhausted and I was asking a lot of it trying to wake me up after very little sleep. Definitely worth having a back up just in case in the instances. Other than that, the watch looks cool. The timer and stop watch work great too. And you get an alternate time zone as well - this is a lot of watch for the money. I love my watches and I have a few nice ones but I barely ever take this one off because it's just an excellent all rounder.

Durable, accurate, and easy to use!
I bought this watch in January of 2017 to have as my "outdoor" watch. It quickly became the go-to for all outdoor activities like portaging, swimming, rock climbing, and pretty much anything that needed a durable watch: used in doing full house renos (many blunt impacts against it, not even a scratch), truck work on the trails, etc. You get the idea, this thing put up with a lot of abuse and has always been dependable. During this whole time never had any issue with the battery, the clock has been accurate to the second since the first day, calendar has been bang on, the light always works, and the additional features like 2nd timezone, stopwatch, countdown timer, and alarm have all been great. The buttons are easy to operate and make sense, the screen is easy to read in any light (including with sunglasses). This month (Aug 2020) a part of the wrist band snapped. The watch itself still is just fine. Honestly for the price this is such an awesome piece of equipment!

Perfect! (depending on your intended use)
Great watch if you're looking for a cheap watch to perform specific features. I use it occasionally in my daily life when playing sports or everyday activities, but usually wear something more fashionable otherwise. However it has one other major purpose for me, travel. While travelling I leave it on the dual time mode so I know what time it is at home, and I've found the easy to find and quick LIGHT button very handy. I like the vibration alarm, and bet it would be great for people who stay in hostel dorms and are easily woken by movement. It's survived extended swimming in multiple oceans, pools, and other bodies of water around the world, and even some large cliff dives. No condensation or other issues so far after two years. However I do see other reviews that haven't been as lucky. Looks good as new minus a barely noticeable scratch on the face. Cons I can think of are that some people might find the strap and awkward bulk of the watch uncomfortable, but that's hard to gauge for everyone as I barely notice it.
