The Event That will never be forgoten in the X-universe
This storyline is the best to come from the already brilliant New X-men comic book, this event has rocked the foundation of the x-men to the bone. There is not alot i can say with out giveing the story away but here is what i can say.4 characters die 2 of them main characters, an old villain returns and proffesor x and New York has been captured by this old villain. The x-men will never be the same again.

Simply Superb (well almost)
Basically, I think this is the best so far.I only have one problem, why did they have to kill off that character, he/she, was my favourite, it's just cruel. But other than that, it's great.I won't say no more because I don't want to give much away.

Sheer Magnetism
I have so far bought all the 'New X-Men' graphic novels and have enjoyed the new take on characters I have been reading about for a large part of my life. This story arc gets away from the, 'high school life' stories that earlier editions contained - this time it is back to the action. An old enemy has come back - you'll never guess where that enemy was hiding (well,I didn't see it coming).Good story, good art, genuine surprises and exactly what the publisher wants - you are left wondering what happens next and searching Amazon to see when volume 7 is going to be released.

What the...
Oh dear, Grant Morrison has lost the plot. He forces this story so much its ridiculous. Xorn is magneto, didn't see it coming, you know why? it's a stupid idea that requires some ret conning to explain. On top of that, the magneto herein is pathetic, a junkie without any real clue. He even gets told what to do by toad. This is all horribly wrong, it is as if someone forced the writer to commit career suicide by writng this. That said there are some great moments within the story. The art is excellent, the reason I gave it two stars rather than one, or none if I could.

Das vorletzte Kapitel der New X-Men

Frustrating end to a great character; Magneto sucks in this
I haven't read much of Grant Morrison's run on X-Men yet, and I am slowly collecting TPBs to get caught up, since I had a three-year hiatus from comic collecting when Marvel announced that it's tone would become "darker and more adult." I was disappointed by anything remotely having to do with Age of Apocalypse, so I was saving myself some money. The artwork was okay in this book. I prefer the more elegant detail of pencilers like Alan Davis on Uncanny, or the expressions on Cassaday's faces in Astonishing, but this was okay. The quality wasn't consistent from frame to frame, figures weren't always well-proportioned and had skinny legs. Magneto (or "Xorneto") is back, and he's on drugs. Nice example to set for the young mutants out there, Mags, thanks for nothing. Magneto is finally living his dream of becoming humanity's next Hitler and builds an abattoir/crematorium for all of the hostage baseline humans in New York. Dark stuff. He also has help from the newest, lamest version of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, all harvested from the current class of Xavier's students. He gets Charles out of the way by locking him up in a stasis tank and disabling the nannite implants he used to support his spine, thereby crippling him again. Sigh. Repetitive ideas with a weird twist. The Stepford Cuckoos are back, and I could care less, they are my least favorite characters. The fourth sister, Esme, is the prodigal daughter of the group who supplies Magneto with a Kick, a mutant power-enhancing drug, and she appears to also be carrying on a relationship with him that should be illegal, considering the age difference. The highlight of this book is the interchange between Jean Grey and Wolverine on Asteroid M, which is doomed to imminently drift into the sun. Yes, I said the sun. The final dialogue between these two is great and long overdue. My favorite line? "I'm still waiting for my eyeballs to grow back; what is it I'm supposed to be seeing?" Scott more or less finally decides between Jean and Emma, which is moot, considering the ending, and this book cemented my hatred of his character going forward.Morrison's dialogue is certainly intelligent enough, it reminds me of Joss Whedon's (I love when Emma is stranded on the rock in the middle of the ocean with Hank, spots the Blackbird bearing down on them and mutters "it's just bloody Jean, showing off again.") I just thought the plot was all over the place, the character roster was badly selected, and I thought Xavier needed to get a clue. (come on, Jean tells him she's going into space to rescue Wolverine, and all he does is tell her 'good luck?' And that she'd make a good headmaster?)ONLY buy this one used. I don't recommend the follow-up, "Here Comes Tomorrow," either, since I thought it was a confusing mess.

Worst X-Men graphic novel EVER
This book, New X-Men Vol. 6, is an unbelievable heap of garbage. I have a really hard time comprehending that the same writer that did Vol. 1-5 is responsible for this nonsense. The X-Men are defaced with poor dialogue, ridiculous events and a storyline that is stupid and has no build. Not even just a stupid storyline, but a damaging one...and as another reviewer has explained, it is a total disgrace to the legacy of Magneto. I found virtually every scene in the book to be intolerable. I read through it just out of a sick fascination for how bad it was.I highly recommend that you stop reading the New X-Men series at Vol. 5. I can only assume that the old 5 star reviews giving praise to this book were written by marketing monkeys, as no true comic fan (or fan of anything with creative merit) could possibly have enjoyed this crap. Planet X is a shameful blight in the history of X-Men, do yourself a favor and don't buy it.
