Simply Circular Designs Coloring Book (Dover Design Coloring Books)

There's a happy medium to be found in adult coloring books. On one side are designs so complex they take hours to decipher let alone color. The creators revel in complexities that confound the normal eye to see. Where one mistake can ruin hours of work. On the other hand there are adult coloring books whose designs look as if they're children's drawings from the back of the 'fridge with the color removed or, worse (I've been there) the barely legible scribbles of adults in long term care facilities to color. I find both ends of this spectrum, and lets not pretend they don't exist, to be insulting and a waste of money. Images so simple; cat, broom, bucket, table or so complex they were likely computer generated are ridiculous. Sitting down to color, to relax, let off some stress and express a little creativity are sometimes hard to find. This book 'Simply Circular Designs Coloring Book' by Dover Press is the perfect middle ground between complexity and simplicity. You can put as much or as little as you like into the work and still enjoy the process. We've bought adult coloring books for years and will certainly be looking for more right along these lines. This is one of the best design books put together. Highly recommended!

I chose this book hoping it was exactly what it claims to be: simple. I don't always want to color tiny, intricate detailed designs. This book filled the bill. The designs are simple, but look very cool when colored in. I just got this, and have only colored one page, but I can already tell that this book is going to be one of my preferred coloring books. No straining of the eyes to color in the lines here, and for me, that's more of the relaxing type of coloring I prefer. I'd like to find another with a similar concept. Highly recommend for those who may want to color therapeutically, but have vision or motor skill challenges.

Daughter loves this book...but gel pens are not adequate for this book. They run out too quickly. Suggest a light-hand with markers or colored pencils on these, as they are double-sided. Kind of annoying. That is why I gave it only 3 stars.UPDATE: Has already lost interest in it, as kids do sometimes. She mentioned that while she likes it, it takes all of her gel pens up for one picture. I suggested to her that she use her markers instead. She agrees.I stand by my original assessment: Suggest fine line markers instead of any kind of art/gel pen.

Thick pages, nice quality, but the design on front makes it look more intricate than the designs on the pages really are. The title is exactly what it says, simply circular designs. Very simple, requires great shading skill to accomplish the colored design on front. No biggie, but was hoping for a tiny bit more. She got it four days ago and is finished with it.

I bought two. One for me and one for my sister. We are both enjoying the relaxing that coloring brings, and the creativity to do our own colors. I would buy this book again and do the pictures differently. Highly recommend!

I got one of these books for my best friend to decorate and fill some of her empty time with - she's disabled now. She recalled a time when she was a child and was hospitalized for an intensive back surgery. She passed time with books like this. I was thrilled to find them for her. I liked this one so much, I bought one for myself too!

I enjoy coloring with colored pencils while traveling in a car. I have ordered many geometric type coloring books such as this one because it allows me to be creative with my color choices. I have purchased many such items from Amazon and I will continue to do so. I have encourages others to purchase this type of product as well and will likely recommend Amazon as a great place to shop for this type of product.

Item description forgot to mention 1 important thing about this book, the pages are back to back. I wish I would have known this because I wouldn't have purchased it. I use markers and gel pens to color with and they bleed through the paper and ruin one of the pictures.

Good book. Bigger colouring blocks. Enjoying the book with filling different colours.

Wonderful designs - may even be OK for tweens to colour.
