Excellent Cola Flavoring -- Helped me kick the Diet Coke Habit
Consider this a 4 1/2 rating. The only two things that I would change about the Homebrew Cola Concentrate would be if a) they had a caffeine free version (I'm not 100% sure it even is caffeinated, but I get jittery enough that I'm making the assumption) and b) they didn't bother with the brown coloring. It's very easy to get some of the almost black brown on your fingers, if there's a drip, and I think it would be healthier without the coloring. All that said? I ordered the 3-pack, brought one to my office and keep one in my pantry (and one for backup), where I use them multiple times a day. I decided to try kicking Diet Coke (we all know the stuff's bad for you) but needed a cola substitute. So I began to mix my own colas using seltzer water, stevia, and this cola concentrate, and it does the job beautifully. Have you ever tried Bottle Caps candy? This cola concentrate has the same smell as the cola-flavored candy; it's unmistakably COLA. So I get the right flavoring and, for the most part, don't crave the old poison. I imagine it would also work with a SodaStream, but I'm fine just stirring drops into a cup of ice and fizzy water (again, with my own sweetener). For some reason, the box picture looked larger to me than the reality, but the description clearly says "2-Ounce Boxes." I bought some dropper bottles in the 2-ounce size and switched the dropper lids for the lids on the bottles of concentrate, which makes it easier to put maybe 7 drops of flavoring into a 12-ounce can's worth of water. I'm so very grateful that Homebrew helped me start this new and somewhat healthier habit.

Makes a decent diet cola
I have an iSi Twist and Sparkle Beverage Carbonating System and wanted to make a diet cola. Most diet cola syrups on the market for home users use splenda and/or acesulfame K which I don't like the taste of. I'm used to and prefer the aftertaste of aspartame or saccharine. This was the only extract I could find that was unsweetened so I could try my own sweeteners. I ordered the cola flavor from Jack's Country Store here on Amazon.I tried making the soda with both erythritol and saccharine (sugar twin). I couldn't get the sweetness right with erythritol, but the Sugar Twin worked fine. The extract flavor is between a cola and a rootbeer flavor. I used the following mix: 3.5 cups water + 1 tsp cola extract + 1/4 cup Sugar Twin (if using erythritol use closer to 1/2 cup) and optionally, juice of a lime to boost the acidity and push the flavor closer to a cola and away from rootbeer. You could also use a bit less extract and sugar twin, I like it a bit strong.

Less is more with this stuff! ETA No longer selling what is advertised!
ETA I bought this stuff over 5 years ago, tried a different version that was tasteless, so I bought more of this. I ended up wtih 3 bottles of the tasteless stuff. I contacted the seller who informed me the Homebrew cola extract is no longer being made. I told them maybe they should stop trying to sell it then!ORIGINAL from 2015: At first I was going to throw this stuff out because it was awful. I dumped my first glassful in the sink because I couldn't drink it. But I didn't want to throw away something I paid this much money on. So I tried diluting it with more club soda...and it worked. So obviously 1 tbsp of the syrup is too much for a 2 liter bottle of soda. Next time I'll try 1 tsp. Will also make this expensive syrup last longer. I also add some cherry stevia and it tastes even better.

Buyer Beware - did not receive pictured product
I did not receive Homebrew brand product, got different product with different ingredients that prior reviewer listed. More Caramel Color than water!?! Not returning it because I will still try it, but I could have spent less $ for a better product.

This tassted like cheap store brrand cola.
Pepsi and Coke got the reall coal flavor locked up. There is NO way you can get a good cola at home without mixing your own from scratch AND Pepsi and Coke make it damn tough to get cola nuts. This extract, No matter how you mix it, it ends up tasting like generic store label cola. The flavor is much like Wal Mart brand cola.Sugar free? Don't even think about it! I used nectresse which the best of them all and this stuff was awful! Sadly I got in on Ebay and not amazon so no returns. Do yourself a favor and get the Soda Stream syrup or the Primo syrup and just use 1/2 as much to keep the cost and calories down.

Great!
Great! Tastes like an amazing homemade cola! I love it! I have been eating Jello with added fiber powder to lose weight, and I have been adding this to sugar-free cherry Jello for a cherry cola flavor... and it is just amazing!

Not cola
I wanted a real cola taste and this product did not deliver the taste and very runny so use an eyedropper if you purchase the product.Price seemed good until I tasted it and then felt it was a waste of money. Thank goodness I found a product that delivers on taste and healthier too.

Satisfying!
I've mostly given up drinking sweetened sodas, but find that I can satisfy my occasional cola craving by adding a drop or two of this extract to a can of club soda. It's not Coke, but it lends a touch of cola pizzazz without calories or gawdawful artificial sweeteners
