Great watch at a great price.
Great watch at a great price. This watch is stunning in person. Online pictures do no justice whatsoever. Build quality is fantastic for the price. Overall, I'm insanely impressed.Accurate for the money, mine is running around +8 seconds per day (well within spec). Sapphire crystal, updated and new movement, day/date feature that is framed unlike most watches. The automatic movement is Japanese in house, that allows for hacking and hand winding. They got everything right on specs.Only con I can see is the bracelet is not the best quality. It does fine for what it is, but the clasp is a bit long, and it has hollow end links. Will probably upgrade it in the future, but its more than fine for now.One misconception is that the crown is loose. Yes the crown is a bit loose, for a reason. This watch uses a two piece, spring loaded shaft for the screw down crown function. The spring is what allows the crown to move when it's fully extended. It also allows better shock resistance, and protects the movement from damage. All in all, I'm super impressed. I wasn't sold on the watch at first when I saw it online. After going back and forth between this and a few other models, I'm more than happy I decided on this one.

Beautiful Watch
I love this watch. It is beautiful and well made for the price point. So far it keeps great time (-5 seconds for 48 hours). The dial is more Maroon than red and the black bezel really makes the dial pop. The bracelet is fairly easy to adjust if you have the right tools. If I were reviewing only the bracelet, I would give it 3 stars. I’m hoping Strapcode will make a super oyster for the watch soon. All in all the watch looks awesome, keeps great time. The sapphire crystal really sets this watch above all others in this category.

Beautiful watch, with one flaw
After researching many Seiko and Orient dive watches, I finally settled on this one. On paper it’s got everything. In person, it’s stunning. However, there was one thing that I just couldn’t get over, so I returned it: the color of the hands and hour markers. They are very yellow. More than every other watch I have owned. I understand it’s because of the lume, but my Seiko, Hamilton, and Swiss Army watches all have lumed areas that are way more white.

Must have affordable diver !
I originally got the red dial version since at the time the green (teal) dial was not available and was more expensive. At the time I thought I would like both equally. I tried to like the red dial but found that red really isn't my color in watch dials. I also ending up not liking how the bezel insert was black instead of red. It was still a great watch though. I held onto it for a while but eventually sold it and got this green dial one also from amazon.Pros:SapphireHacking and hand winding movementComfortable case sizeStunning dark green dial that looks more like a teal in certain lighting. I like this dial color the bestGreat lumeIs a 200M diver but gives off a classy lookCons:Crown is a bit smallNot easy to grip and turn bezel (feels stiff)No drilled lugsMy movement is about 20 secs fast\day on timegrapher (will have to regulate it) (I know this is within specs btw)Bracelet isn't the best. Easy to size and not horrible, but I felt this watch deserves better so I upgraded (see pic)Not crazy about the orient logoStill overall I would say this is a great everyday watch and a must have for any affordable watch collector out there; or even if you are a one watch person and want something that can handle almost all occasions

Had to replace the first one. Second one has the same problem
Received the first one. Took me like 15 minutes to get the crown unscrewed. Then I took another 15-20 minutes to get it to screw back on. I believe this one had some bad threads on it. Was only in my possession a few hours. I did a return for replacement immediately.Had a new one in two days. Crown operated much better. But still the design of the crown is kinda awkward. It is hard to get a hold of because of the protruding metal on both sides.Haven't really had long enough to give further review...might add more later. Watch does look really nice and bezel action is the best I have ever owned. No back play and it does line up at 12.UPDATE: The second watch had the same issue as the first one...threads on crown get easily crossed...after just 3 or 4 times un-screwing and screwing and I could no longer get crown to screw on at all.SENT BACK FOR REFUND and suggested to Amazon to pull this watch. It should be recalled.

Awesome for the money. With a few small cons.
Overall for the price this is probably the best watch you can buy.PROS : sapphire crystal for under $250 is awesomeThe whole look of the watch is visually appealing, size, thickness, polishing, bezel etc.when I received this watch it was running fast about 8-9 seconds a day. I adjusted it and now runs slow about 2 seconds a day. So it is very accurate for the moneyHas manual wind and hacking.Bezel is tight but not too tight and has no back and forth play and lines up perfectly.Very comfortable for my 7.5” wristCONS : there are a few cons but mostly nitpicking at this price point of $240.The Lume isn’t great. It isn’t bad or amazing. The thing that bothers me the most is that the crown is small. If it was a little bigger it would be much easier to tighten down and use. It’s hard to tighten down fully without using something to be able to grip it.The bracelet has hollow end links and has a very tinny sound. The clasp isn’t all that great either. If you change the bracelet to a nice strap or get a different bracelet from strap code for $80 it’s perfect and is as nice as most $500-1000 watches. Overall I recommend it completely.

BEAUTIFUL!
This is a ridiculously beautiful watch, particularly with its unique, deep red sunray dial! The band is by no means shabby, and the sapphire crystal is a huge bonus. And for us lume lovers, it is hard to beat the lume of this watch as well. Overall an EXCELLENT value for such a BEAUTIFUL and functional watch!

Somewhere in between acceptable and like
I have had my Kamasu for a while now. I am not going to return it but I am not ecstatic either. First, I expected the scarlet to be more pronounced. In most lighting situations it is almost black. Second the lum isnt as impressive as I expected but I can live with it. Third so far customer service sucks. There is no Canadian contact. Fourth I have been trying to find a support site that will point me in the direction of a PDF for the manual. The one that comes with the watch is small and hard to read. I have been trying to contact the Los Angeles site but have yet to be contacted. I hope I dont have a more serious problem with the watch. I hope everyone that purchases this watch is satisfied. I could only recommend it with reservations.

Stunning watch
This watch is perfect for someone getting into the watch scene. Comparing it with the seiko skx, this is a good entry level price with decent specs to go with it. The fact that the watch comes with sapphire crystal along with hand winding and hacking is pretty amazing for the price that you're paying. Watch also runs within spec at +5 seconds per day and the Lume on thos watch is almost on par with seikos lumibrite.

Very nice sunburst blue dial, sapphire crystal, and automatic movement
The blue sunburst dial is really eye catching, changing from almost black to a royal blue depending on how the light hits it. The applied indices are nicely done with the facets reflecting light along with the polished hands. Surprisingly wears smallish, not overly large which for me is a bonus (7.25 inch wrists). The uni-directional bezel has a nice firm feel with no slop in the movement. Overall a really nice look, not too flashy, just a nice, subtle diver that is nicely finished, with a sapphire crystal that I don't find overly reflective. The indices have a decent amount of Lume applied and look distinctive while still conforming to a traditional diver. Sans Arabic numerals I think gives it a tad more formal appearance, making it even more versatile. The polished second and minute hands reach out to the minute track allowing for easy tracking, and have a shape that fits with the overall design. The silver framing of the day / date box is a nice little accent. The bezel has Arabic numerals at the 10 minute marks, with the 0 pip having a bit of recessed Lume applied. The bezel lines up remarkably well for a watch in this price range. Lots of knurling on the bezel allows for easy movement. The blue on the bezel is a matt finish which works well. The rubber strap is comfortable with an interesting band catch, a nice little touch. Looks good on the watch and suites the style overall. May also get a NATO strap which I think would fit the style. The screw down crown takes a bit of futzing to unseat (very pronounced crown guards), and would recommend taking the watch off to adjust. A bit of wobble in the crown when loosened, but nothing dramatic. The pull stops on the crown are not overly distinctive, and for me at least takes a couple of tries to find the day / date position. The hacking feature is handy and works as advertised. There is a bit of 'roughness' in the manual winding, but hopefully won't have to use that too often.Overall extremely happy with the purchase, automatic movement, sapphire crystal, nicely finished, 20 bar WR, beautiful sunburst dial, excellent size, all for a very reasonable price - very good value.

An amazing watch!
I bought this watch Aug 12 to temporarily replace my Rolex Submariner that's being serviced. I had looked at a Seiko, but have a (completely non-rational) aversion to the crown being located at 4 o'clock. Then I came across the Orient Kamasu and liked the appearance and that it has a sapphire crystal. (Orient has been around for a long time; they are part of the Seiko Epson Group.) have now worn it continuously since then, and am really impressed. Over this period of more than two weeks it has gained no more than 10 seconds! The bezel is tight, the lume is excellent, and the bracelet doesn't rattle at all. And it just looks and feels good on the wrist! I shall keep wearing this watch as my daily 'beater' even after I get back my Sub.
