Soil Moisture Meter Green

This is a must have for people like me who struggle with plant care but love having indoor plants. Easy to read, easy to use, seems to be accurate. I love knowing exactly when to water my plants after killing too many of them. The length is nice even for deeper/tree pots. This is a quality water meter and this was actually my second time buying it. My child lost my first one checking the water outside in the yard somewhere after having it for about two years. It’s apparently that exciting to use. I would buy this again if another is lost because it works so well.

Works well for those that don’t have a lot of luck with plants. Takes the guess work out of knowing if your plants need watering or not.

The first Gouevn Soil Moisture Meter was broken because the needle was way off the chart and did not move at all to show the humidity level. The information on how to use the meter was right on the box and was easy to follow. The meter was sturdy and the size appropriate. I returned it with the reason for the return. Almost immediately, I received a new one and this one works.

I am updating my review in Apr 2021. After writing the review below, I contacted Gouevn via email and described the issue. They responded quickly and immediately shipped me a new moisture meter that arrived a few days later. The new one works well. I have changed my * rating from 1 to 4 stars. It would have been 5 stars if the first meter did not break in 3 months. Hopefully the new one will work for a long time. Bought this moisture meter in January of this year. It was working great first... easy to read and sensitive to moisture. Unfortunatley it stopped working after 3 months. The red pointer is stuck at the far right and does not move no matter what. Is there a warranty on this product? If so, how can I get a replacement? Thanks

A friend recommended this soil moisture meter after I complimented her on how healthy her plants looked, and now I totally get why! I have houseplants in just about every room, and it turns out I was loving them a little too much with water. This little tool has completely changed the way I care for them. The design is super simple-no batteries, no charging, just stick it into the soil and it gives you an instant reading. The meter read is quick, accurate, and easy to understand. I use it once a week when I do my plant check-in and watering. It’s been spot-on accurate and has taken all the guesswork out of plant care. The build quality is great- sturdy and durable without being bulky. For the price, this is such a great value. I truly believe my plants are thanking me. They’ve never looked better. If you love houseplants but struggle with knowing when to water, this tool is a game changer!

Smarter than a finger

I received this soil moisture meter today and tested it on various pots to get a sense of how it interpreted different levels of moisture. This meter does know the difference between wet and dry, but it seems to measure about 2 steps lower than reference. I am basing this measure on the reference that plants that need to be kept evenly moist are supposed to be watered when the meter reads around "3," and plants that need to dry out between waterings are supposed to be watered when the meter reads around "1." I let the meter settle for 60 seconds before reading each time, as the needle swung far to the right every time the tip entered soil, and then slowly trended down before stopping at the measure. Freshly replanted jasmine with water rapidly dripping from pot drainage holes, still visibly boggy soil on top (gardener's definition of "wet") - meter read "5" ("moist") Established Meyer lemon tree watered 3 days ago, soil surface still damp but not wet to touch (gardener's definition of "moist") - meter read "2.5" ("dry") Established succulent plant with dry soil all the way down, due for watering - meter read "1.5" ("dry") So it consistently UNDER-estimated soil moisture until it got to a pot that was actually dry. This is a problem for me, as I bought the meter to keep me from accidently over-watering my citrus and succulent plants. I suppose I can just remember to "add 2" and correlate with soil texture for a while - if it turns out to be consistently incorrect, it could still be helpful. ADDENDUM: This meter stopped working entirely after a couple of weeks. It now tells me all soil, no matter how wet or dry, is between 2-3 ("dry").

It only worked for one week . Subsequently the pointer always goes to blue which means very wet , even though the soil is dry !

Happy with the Product. Tried on Indoor as well as Outdoor Plants. Gives an immediate read. I had actually expected, as stated in product specs, that it will take a few minutes to arrive at the meter read, but it is instant. The Probe is long enough to reach closer to the roots in most Pots. Also, senses differential water levels in the same Pot. Tried at surface and the deeper. The reading of the meter keeps changing when it moves deep down. Works well overall. I preferred the analog one over the digital meters, which according to my view may not have longer life and will not be robust enough in the UAE temperature.
