Mousetrap Mayhem: The Victor M205's Rodent Reckoning
Ladies and gentlemen, gather 'round for the tale of the Victor M205 Easy Set Plastic Pedal Mouse Traps - the unsung heroes of my home's great mouse invasion of 2025! Picture this: There I was, a mild-mannered homeowner, suddenly thrust into the role of a mouse-hunting vigilante. Armed with nothing but my wits and these nifty little traps, I embarked on a quest to rid my kingdom of its furry usurpers. Let me tell you, these traps are easier to set than my New Year's resolutions! With a satisfying 'click,' I became the master of my domain once more. I baited them with a gourmet selection of peanut butter - because if you're going to go, why not go out with a feast, right? The results? Absolutely mouse-tacular! These traps worked faster than my kids disappearing when it's chore time. One moment, I had a mouse problem; the next, I was the undefeated champion of the "Catch a Mouse" Olympics1. Now, I must warn you - if you're looking for a humane way to relocate mice to your neighbor's house, this isn't it. These traps mean business. They're like tiny guillotines for rodents, minus the French Revolution drama4. In conclusion, if you want to turn your home from a mouse hotel into a mouse-free zone, these traps are your ticket. They're so effective, I'm half convinced they emit some sort of secret mouse-repelling force field. Or maybe that's just the smell of victory. P.S. To all the mice out there: I'm sorry, but it's nothing personal. It's just pest control

Basic, effective trap
Basic, effective trap. Well made. Used peanut butter as bait. Bought 2 traps, scored 2 rats in 24 hours. Neighbor has several fruit trees. Dropped fruit may be attracting rats to our quiet, residential neighborhood. I just ordered 2 more traps! Be careful setting the trap as the spring is very strong!

Tried and true killing machine
These older wooden traps are the way to go. When baited properly, the catch rate is 100% When baited improperly, you mighty be resetting it many times before you catch your target. Rats aren't stupid, but if you use the right bait, and secure it to the yellow pad, they rarely miss their mark. The downside is the plastic tray, is the polymer is susceptible to the elements, and the polymet sometimes break. But since they're inexpensive, you can just replace it affordably.

Well made trap but only so-so effective against clever rats
Excellent traps that are only so-so at catching rats. The traps themselves are good though you need to be VERY careful setting these traps up or they WILL break your fingers. But if you do this, the traps themselves are reasonably well made for a wood trap and I have set them to go off with only a slight disturbance of the bait pedal and even so have not had the traps ever go off on their own. The problem with these traps is that rats are not just large mice, so you can't just scale up a mouse trap and have it be equally effective against rats. Rats are MUCH smarter than mice. I use Viktor mouse traps and catch mice in droves. But rats, they dance around the rat traps, they seem to know somehow that these traps spell danger. I've taken the usual precautions -- I've worn surgical gloves before handling the rat traps, and even rubbed peanut butter over the surgical gloves before handling the traps to cover whatever lingering human scent may have remained. But rats are wily critters, I'm not sure this type of trap, no matter how well made, is the right tool for the job.

Scary to set.
Wow! The first time I set the trap, it kept snapping right when I let go of it. Threw that one in the trash and tried another. The second worked and killed a rat that night by the chicken coop. Learned to step on the slam bar when setting it. I prop up the trip device with a dried leaf then slowly release the trip bar to prime the trap. The second has caught 3 traps so far and no broken fingers so far. Geeesh! Thinking about getting a cat.

Victor Easy Set Rat Trap Sold and dispatched by: Amazon These rodents have been causing a big problem in my garden. Digging holes around my fence, green house, rat droppings, etc. Every week, the number of rats seems to be increasing. At once, there were 7 rats! So I decided to sort it out once and for all. Before buying a trap, you need to investigate what type of rodent it is. I.e. is it a mouse or a rat (see attached diagram.) The key difference is that a mouse is smaller than a rat. Finding out what type of rodent you want to deal with is important because a MOUSE TRAP will NOT work on RATS. The mouse traps are not powerful enough to kill a rat. On the other hand, a rat trap can kill both rodents. This Victor rat trap is absolutely great. It is very sturdy/strong, including the wood. All the metal is well-built into the strong wood. The ‘kill bar’ (see attached pic- the part where you have to pull back) is REALLY strong. Be very VERY careful when you set the trap. The ‘spring back’ is very powerful. Before I used it, the ‘arm bar’ (see attached pic) had to be free from the pin. So I had to remove the pin. I’m guessing they added that so the arm bar doesn’t damage the plastic packaging when being shipped. And it is quite strong. The hole in which the arm goes in can be set to firm (“F”) or sensitive (“S”). This is indicated on the bait area by arrows. I suggest putting the bait on before setting the trap. I’ve only used cooked rice as bait and it works. You do not need to add a lot- less than a teaspoon would work. I also sprinkle some rice around the trap. I’ve also placed some rice from their hole leading to the trap. You see, there are various ways to do this. It’s recommended to place the trap on the edge (of the garden) rather than in the middle of the garden. This is because rats tend to hide and run along the side. Therefore, ensure that the trap (the bait part) is closest to the wall/fence… So I began to use it straightaway. And the result was immediate- within 2HOURS!, I had a kill. I set the trap again (please use gloves) and left it overnight. And I had another kill. Within a week, my rat problem was all sorted! Once, I found the trap meters away from where I placed it- an alive rat was trying to take the dead rat. So I tied a piece of string from the mouse trap to a brick. Please be aware that sometimes, there may be blood coming from the rat. If you believe that you can’t handle rats, I suggest getting someone else to help. To avoid the trap snapping on my fingers, I follow these steps (Do at own risk, I will not be responsible for any injury)… -Place bait on bait area. -Position trap in area (I.e. by the wall) -Bring back the Kill bar and place the Arm bar above it. Then place your FOOT (with shoes on!) above both bars, holding them down. -Direct arm bar into the bait area (yellow part) hole, the “F” side -Lift the bait area about 1.5 - 2cm with finger and hold it in place -Slowly lift foot off the bars (about 1 cm) until the arm bar is secured in the hole (pressing against the top of the hole) and not loose. -Once secured, remove finger from bait area. Then remove foot slowly & completely from the bars. -Trap set. Do not touch/move. This works for me and it is a little bit hard to explain and understand. The key point is that the foot protects your fingers by holding the (kill & arm) bars down, preventing it from snapping until the arm bar is secured in the hole. When I first used a rat trap years ago, I’ve experienced the pain and believe me, I would not wish it upon anyone. Overall, it’s a great product. It does the job and I believe it will last long, even in typical UK weather! So good luck and be safe! I have included some pics to help you make an informed decision. [Rat trap pics taken by myself. Rats & Mice diagram taken from Rentokill website] Any questions regarding about this item, please leave a comment and I'll try to get back to you ASAP. I would really appreciate it if you marked this review as helpful or not so that I can improve my future reviews.

In tre settimane ho effettuato circa venticinque catture. Ottimo prodotto.
