Medicap MD 3/8" systemic nutrient implants are useful in all types of trees. They contain a mixture of highly water soluble nutrients, including nitrogen, phosphoric acid, soluble potash, iron, manganese and zinc. They are designed to stimulate tree growth and promote dark green foliage. This treatment may be helpful if trees are adversely affected by confined root areas, mechanical root injury, construction damage, poor soil conditions, disease or insect stress, air pollution, flood or frost damage, transplant shock, fire damage, surgery or pruning shock. Medicaps are easily installed by tapping the implants with a hammer and bolt or dowel rod into pre-drilled 3/8" diameter holes in the lower tree trunk at 4 to 6 inch spacing. The cartridge head securely plugs the small wound made to the tree trunk and the active layer of cambium will soon grow over and close the implant site. Under normal moisture conditions, the chemical will move throughout the entire tree within 14 to 21 days for quick Greenup. 10 Medicaps will treat a 14 inch diameter tree.

I had a tree that was in a really bad shape.
I'm not a gardener, very ignorant..., so for me it didn't work..., I had a tree that was in a really bad shape.., so that was just a last hope to save it, and didn't went well, also I has another tree in a much better shape.., just few leaves kind of brownish.., and now after 3 weeks, is still pretty much the same...I applied it exactly like instructions.., but I understand that might have so many other variables that I just ignore.., only thing I can say is after application no results showed up for me.

It did not help the tree at all. I carefully followed the instructions, but the product did not do any good. The process of installing the Medicap's is fairly tedious, I can see room for improving the installation. The Medicap plugs should be treaded on the outside of the plugs, this way the plugs could be screwed in instead of hammering them in. The depth could be better controlled this way, the way they are now it would be easy to set the plugs too deep and once in they are not coming out.
