Absolutely Beautiful Watch and Great Value
I had never heard of this brand before but the reviews were solid both on amazon and on YouTube. The price was affordable compared to other quality homage watches I have been looking at, so gave it a try. Wow, I am blown away, looks fantastic, solid feel, good weight, great finish, honestly if I saw in person before buying it, I would have expected to pay 2-3 times more. Keeps time great as expected, I do not ware it every day but I have an automatic watch winder. I have a small collection of 15 or so quality watches ranging from $400 - $2200 purchase price, with brands such as Seiko, Citizen and Tag Huer, and this new Burei is the prettiest watch of them all. I get so many compliments on it when I ware it, it is almost embarrassing. I will be adding more Burei's to my collection. Quality watch, Looks Amazing, Great Price, what a value! This is not a Rolex and though it may resemble one isn't and I don't think it is trying to be one either. If you have the money and want a Rolex, get one, but if you are like me and looking for a great looking quality time piece that will be with you for years at a great value then you need to consider Burei, you will be happy that you did. By the way in one of my pictures there appears to be a scratch but I assure you there is not. I guess I had a weird reflection or something. Check there watches out they have many other styles too.

The father-figure archetype, subtle elegance, suitable for everyday wear...
I had been searching for a classic timepiece with a subdued green face, instead of the desperate for attention emerald green a la Rolex's "Hulk", or "Kermit" Submariners. So when I found this Burei (8001M) on Amazon, I decided to take a chance and pick it up as a Christmas gift for myself last year. I'm glad I did, as it has surpassed my expectations. Right out of the handsome, keepsake packaging, you are mesmerized by the way light dances across the polished and brushed stainless steel surfaces of the well-proportioned case, fluted bezel and jubilee bracelet, which lead your eye on a journey of continuous discovery and appreciation. Beyond the first impression, closer inspection rewards you with the polished and machined accents of the butterfly clasp and sapphire display back framing the automatic movement. The machined numberless sunburst dial is a subdued moss green, almost gray depending on the light, with applied hour indices and "b" Burei logo, and a beveled date window at 3 o'clock which is complemented by a magnificent cyclops crystal making the date as easy to read (or even better?) as that of my Rolex Submariner. Beneath the sapphire crystal are etched Burei "b" logo and BUREI repeated around the inner bevel (a la Rolex) which is another Easter egg for those taking the time to closely examine the minute details. Beyond the visual impressions, this watch has all the expected elements of a fine automatic, with winding, hacking, and a precise, smooth sweeping second hand. The date begins transitioning at around 10pm and clicks over at about 11:55pm. The crown does not screw down though, so to be safe, I would avoid any submersion beyond washing your hands. I rotate through my watches, and this is more of an occasion watch to complement the green or gray I'm wearing. It therefore spends most of it's time on one of my winders, where it keeps time fairly well to within +/- 10-15 seconds per day. Not as accurate as some of my other Swiss timepieces, but well within tolerance for me. After a couple weeks on my winder, it may need to be adjusted by a minute or two, but lacking a screw-down crown makes this watch extremely quick and easy to adjust. As for the cons of this watch, I only have a few nits to pick. The lume on the hour indices, hour and minute hands is laughable. Seriously. But remember, this is an extremely affordable casual dress watch, not a Swiss-made utility dive watch, so enjoy it for what it is in the light of day and use your phone to check the time in the dark. haha! My other gripe is the printed verbage on the dial. The way the light plays on the applied hour indices and "b" logo is great, but makes the printed text on the dial even less interesting. I think not using an applied "BUREI" under the logo was a huge missed branding opportunity. As for the rest of the dial face verbage, it's just sort of useless and filling space to break up the expanse of the sunburst dial imho. Something of informational value could be there instead. I mean, seriously, WTH does "AUTOMATIC CRAFTED" and "GENUINE ORIGINAL CERTIFICATION" even mean?! Fortunately, anyone reading this dial text will already be pretty interested in getting a closer look at this otherwise fine looking watch, and its other visual elements and craftsmanship will hopefully make up for this seemingly useless text that should have done something to affirm Burei's credibility and build brand recognition. Now, as for my final impressions, I have to admit, this watch fits my 7-and-a-half inch wrist nicely, has a nice heft, and draws attention from the owner and others with it's refractory details without being gaudy or arrogant. I've found my Rolex and Tudor may get noticed, but are rarely acknowledged publicly. But this watch is so classic and subdued that I frequently get compliments and requests to take a closer look. This watch makes me imagine what Mr. Brady, or Ward, the father from "Leave it to Beaver" would have been wearing when the came home from work. It is the perfect accent for the respectable, successful, father-figure archetype, and wearing it gives me the feeling that I too have "made it", without having to shout it out to the world. In summary, this is a watch I imagine my son wearing someday, as he walks through the door, greeting his family at the end of another successful day.

A little too big for my taste, beautiful watch.
Beautiful watch... unfortunately the face is too big for me. I am not a Hollywood, big watch kind of guy. Shipping was great, and the return process was easy. No complaints here. Just not my size.

Decent watch just not my style
I purchased this as I was looking for an everyday watch that I could also wear on nicer occasions. I'm not a 'dress watch' guy so this sporty/Rolex homage I was hoping would fit the bill. Since this was a lower price watch I wasn't expecting much but was surprised the quality was decent. Definitely not a 'luxury' watch in regards to finishing but felt the price reflected the quality. I liked the size (~40mm) and the band was good - no sharp edges and comfortable to wear. My wrist is 7 1/4" but I still needed to remove 6 links to get a fit so someone with larger wrists should have no problem. If you have under 7" wrists you should be able to remove a couple more links but no more. The watch itself has good weight and doesn't feel cheap but it is definitely shiny. I'm not a big fan of a lot of polished surfaces but this is going for a certain look and they did a nice job. The movement is automatic but does not hack and I don't believe it hand winds either. The instruction manual is generic in that it talks about how to set several different movements for other watches they sell (quartz and automatic) and it seems to indicate they use Miota for their automatic watches. It said it hacks but mine did not....but perhaps I just missed that paragraph. I love a good lume so I put it under a strong flashlight for about 15 seconds and the hands and hour markers seemed to glow ok....not like a Seiko but just ok. I didn't check to see if you could still see it during the night (I wear a watch while sleeping) it [might] be legible after a few hours. Overall it would be a decent watch if you want the Rolex Datejust look at a fraction of the price. For me, I just didn't like it once I saw it on my wrist and held it. My opinion is it seems a bit...'meh' on styling so I'm returning it.

Satisfied buyer
Had this watch over a year ago get many comments about rich looks and attractiveness. Keeps accurate time. Pairs well when dressed up and casual. Would definitely purchase again.

I bought this watch a year ago, I have not pampered it. The amazingly comfortable metal band has some minor scuffs (not visible to the naked eye at a foots distance) due to being on my person virtually everyday, no matter what I was doing that day, digging in the dirt and what have you, etc. The glass is in pristine condition, not a scratch to be seen. If you dont manually wind every day, (desk job here so I don't move around a whole lot on the average day, so automatic winding doesn't get enough action) then after a week of use it's behind by about 5 minutes. So I usually adjust the time once a week which isn't a big deal for me. The date window is very practical and useful. The watch is through and through water proof so you can wear this baby to bed even if you are a routine bed wetter. I recently bought my dad this same watch for his birthday. Like son, like father, we have the same taste, he loves this watch as well. This is the best looking, best Qaulity watch you will find for $200. If you regret buying this watch, you are probably a pansy liberal who would vote for Trudeau and have a picture of shirtless Joe Biden walking on the beach hanging on your wall. This is a joke. Buy the watch, if you like it half as much as I like it, it will be your favourite watch or Robert's your mother's brother. Cheers 🍻

Coming to terms with realizing that I can’t afford a Datejust just yet wasn’t easy. But, with way less money you can get a little taste of how it would feel by getting something like this. The watch came with an insane amount of shrink wrapping in box. The wrist band is ok, the dial seems a bit hard to see in blue at least. It’s almost like the glass is a bit hazy but it isn’t, it’s the lack of contrast I’d say. The fluted bezel is nice but the blue crown tip is weird however it can be scratched off. The cyclops works well and has a great magnification. The mechanism is good for now, it’s a Seiko caliber so it should be fine. I’d say keep your expectations under control, a watch like this does an OK job of “homage” to a Datejust but I’d say that quality wise it can’t even compare to other traditional watch brands in the same price range like Seiko, Citizen, Bulova or heck even Casio. I feel like my one third of a price Casio is built significantly better than this. But hey... where else can you get an affordable Datejust looks with a proven automatic movement ?

Shipping was fast and packaging was good. I’m generally used to watches which have the protective covering on the face, but it’s not the end of the world. If you’re ordering the olive green face, just as a caution, the face is more olive/tan than the green shown in the ad. I had hoped it would be similar to the Rolex olive, but I suppose it’s a matter of preference. My one gripe is the band and sizing. For those of you (myself included) who have small wrists, there isn’t much of an opportunity to size other than three links on either side and the band doesn’t allow for micro sizing. Still, for the money, it is a great value. I just wish they would change the band to allow for better customization for sizing.
