Awesome product!!. Awesome sound!!
Transferred the lazy boring sound of my turntable. Prior to purchasing this, I had spent $30 on acrylic platter which provided an unsatisfying sound. I than tried a rubber mat that sounded way to bassy and muffled. Then i went with these, and never looked back. Every genre of music i throw at this made my music so much more punchier and exciting on every level. Try it you wont regret it. Awesome product for far less!!. Acrylic platter has a more laid back sound that is not exciting. Please note. If you flip this platter around from standard placement, you will eliminate far more static and increase dynamics in your music.

Turn it upside down and your static problems with be gone!
I'm giving this a five star review despite not working at all like intended. With the leather facing up, this didn't fix any of my static issues, and it just stuck to records as I picked them up. It seemed to make the static worse, so I turned it upside down out of curiosity, and the static is gone! The underside is like a felt microfiber, and I think it makes a way better platter than the leather side. It's so silent and smooth on my records, dampening the noise, but the fact that it actually solved my static problem makes it perfect. If your static doesn't go away using this with the leather facing up, turn it upside down and give it a go!

A pleasant and warm surprise
I have been looking for a turntable mat to replace my old cork one. A friend suggested a leather one, so I ordered it.Although this is a PU leather, t is well made, good looking dark brow/black finish , it fits my 3 turntables (center hole is just the right size to fit snuggly and does not move around). I must say that while playing a record, the low tones seemed to be a bit warmer than with cork mat or a naked platter. My only issue is that the size is just a tiny bit bigger than the platter itself so when removing the record I tend to accidentally grab the leather mat with the record, this is something you have to be aware off and modify the way you grab the edges of the LPs.I wish there were more colors to choose from. Overall I will recommend this product and might consider getting a couple more if colors become available in the future.

this is actually polyurethane, not genuine leather
I wanted a leather mat to help with the static issues I was having with my rubber mat. The whole reason I wanted a leather mat is that it's organic and shouldn't allow the static to build up the way my synthetic rubber one does. So I was disappointed that this is actually polyurethane, not genuine leather. It doesn't say that anywhere on the packaging. The mat itself is thin and curls up around the edges keeping it from laying completely flat on my platter. My static issue continued with this mat (even after using with freshly cleaned record). And since the center hole on the mat is a little bigger than my spindle, it is allowing it to come completely off the platter stuck to my records. I didn't notice any sound improvement either. Using the term "audiophile" (and even "leather" for that matter) seems very disingenuous. Not surprised that this was made in China. I will be returning this.

Provides a solid playing surface for my vinyl for a great price!
I had been looking for a leather turntable slipmat, but something more affordable. This was in my price point and it's helped to keep dust away from my records. The noise dampening is better than what I had with my felt mat as well. It does curl a bit at the edges, so I would have liked it to be just a little bit thicker, but hopefully it will flatten out over time.

Always use a leather turntable mat!
All of the above! We had recommendations to purchase a leather turntable mat from 2 family members ( one a daughter who is a part time dj) because it helps enhance the clarity, prevents needle skipping, and helps preserve vinyl records ( new and old.) We are glad we purchased this mat for quality, price, and expected long term use.

Good product that needs some minor improvements to be great
Overall, I like the Pro-Spin PU Leather Turntable Mat. I needed a thinner mat and this product fits the bill. I hope the seller takes the following feedback into consideration for continuous product improvements. 1) The edge of the mat is curled up (instead of laying flat as expected), 2) The center hole is larger than a normal LP hole and is difficult to get the mat perfectly centered on the spindle as it should be, 3) The mat is the same size as the LP making it more difficult to pick up the LP without picking up the mat also - please make the mat slightly smaller to give about a 1/8" of clearance. I also use it upside down as another reviewer commented and the static was eliminated from the records. Thanks.

Wow! This mat is the one!
My project audio turntable came with a felt mat. Which I thought was fine. But seemed to hold a static charge where my vinyl would be stuck to it when lifting off player. Tried cork. Same thing. Then acrylic. Which did fix the static issue and sounded pretty good. I saw this inexpensive Leather mat and thought let’s give it a try.So glad I did. It’s not only fixed the static issue, but lowered the “noise floor” almost completely yet sounds big warm and open. Crazy what a $20 accessory could do to improve the over all sound experience.

Does the job
Tried it and have had no issues so far, no static on the record when lifting it off the plate.

Very staticky.
I had high hopes for this product, but unfortunately I find that it significantly increases static electricity. I can hear it when I lift a record off the mat, and then a tonne of dust clings onto the vinyl. I do not have this issue, at least not anywhere near the same degree, with a regular rubber mat. FYI I'm running on a Yamaha YP-D3 with Ortofon gear.
