Robinson Racing 7347 HPI Savage X 4.6 GEN3 Slipper Unit 47 Teeth 1.0 Module Steel

Was unsure about getting this sipper assembly, but I eventually went ahead and pulled the plug after suffering 4 stripped out plastic Spurs. Set came preassembled with all the parts and is a complete direct drop in to the OEM part. Also decided to upgrade the clutch bell to the HD lighter racing version from HPI. Installation was a breeze and tested the spur just by spinning it on the shaft to check wobble and runout. Part rotated true compared to the wobble you would see with the stock plastic spur. I noticed that when I undid the nut while replacing the spur that it wasn't as tight as when I first installed it; wondering if this wobble was the reason why the nut lost tension thus causing the plastic spur to fail. Anyways the steel Robinson has been running for 3 days now and I keep checking the clutch bell and the spur for abnormal wear, so far all is well. Agreed this is a must have upgrade if you want long run time and crazy bashing.

One of the best upgrades on the market for the Savage X 4.6. Make sure you buy a hardened clutch bell too or it'll shred the plastic one.It includes everything you need for the spindle gear swap out, take off the old one and insert this one and enjoy.

Easy install, use a hardned cluchbell and set a good mesh. No problems.

get rid of those plastic spur gears and slipper set up for your savage and get this.a lot better than hpi all metal spur gear and cheaper too. this gear set up is very well built,and no more bushing,it uses a good quality bearing instead.

These are an absolute must if you have a HPI Savage that has undergone a brush-less conversion. These are at least twice the hardness and twice the width of the originals. They can take anything you can throw at them.
