Jumbo, Catch the Mouse, Board Game, 2 to 5 Players, Ages 3 Year Plus

We'd struggled to find family games that we all enjoy and that everyone can play, due to different ages/interests and additional needs, but this was perfect! We played with a very hyperactive 8-year old (who can't sit still long enough to put up with learning rules or patiently move a counter around a board) and a 7-year old with learning disabilities (who can't read/write and doesn't know all her colours, which has ruled out a lot of games 8-year old would enjoy). There's virtually no set-up - just put the mat down, decide who's going to be the cat, pick your mouse and you're off :) There are no colours, numbers or letters that need to be known in order to play and the aim is incredibly simple so no lengthy rules to learn - even us grown ups quite enjoyed it too! :) For children with attachment difficulties or who find losing challenging for any reason, this seems to be okay as the winning and losing is so quick and it's the cat catching a mouse, rather than the player losing, plus there isn't usually just one loser.

It arrived with no packaging just the Amazon sticky label round the box. Of course removing this tore some of the decoration off of the box which was irritating as it was a Christmas present. Having said that the kids loved it, no batteries no complicated instructions just harmless fun and a few trapped fingers when the mouse wasn't quick enough to avoid the catchers! Amazon note the poor packaging; not your usual standard!

very simple game, good for young children. would be better to have just printed the rules on the box rather than faff about trying to download them
