Precious. I gave it to my best friend for her birthday.

I bought this as a gift for a lifetime friend (50+ years, to be exact). I had searched and searched for the right gift to convey the depth of our friendship and how uniquely special she is to me. (The kind of friend I can be myself with; expose my heart, share tears and crazy ideas I wouldn’t share with anyone else.) In a world where the title “best friend” is thrown around casually, or “my besties” for a group of friends - (Isn’t best FRIENDS - in plural form - an oxymoron??🤔) - this kind of connection is on another level. For those of us who are quieter, more private people, a crowd can’t compare with a friend who knows you, knows your history and understands why things impact you the way they do. That crosses the boundary from regular friendships into a unique and priceless gift. Gold & diamonds might have begun to represent that, but seemed too flashy. Not her style and not mine. Instead I came across this. Understated. Well done. And PERFECT for what I wanted to say! I have other Willow Tree items so I had some sense of what to expect. This one exceeded my expectations.

The Willow Tree ornaments are well made and convey emotion with very simple lines and detail. I ordered this set to split with my sister. Our mother, who we recently lost, had also been given this pair by her sister, which my sister and I split. Now we both have a complete pair that represents the bond between the four of us.
