My senior cat has gone through a lifetime of preferences by now, but most of her life she ate dry kibble. As she matured, she began to have thyroid issues and simply could not eat enough. She'd overeat, then vomit it all up. So I decided to try different types of wet food to alternate her dry food with. We tried all the "good" natural brands, as well as the cheaper lower quality brands in search of something she would eat for more than 1 or 2 cans. We tried grills, pates, chunks, and gravies. She liked gravies a lot, but not the chunks. Most pates were too dry, and lost their flavor appeal when we added water to thin it out. She didn't like it the cans if they were open too long or refrigerated. Nothing was working and she was losing weight pretty quickly. I decided to try Sheba with her after reading some reviews here. So glad I did. We mostly get the chicken portions and alternate them with the white fish, and salmon portions. Every meal is fresh. She eats 3-4 portions per day, and a 3am portion of dry kibble. She absolutely loves this stuff, and has even gained a little weight back. If you are having problems with your cat finding the "right" food, I'd definitely recommend your cat try this stuff.

my cats like this product, but I am 71 and I can't open the lids with my fingers and I have tried pliers but it just tears the tab off. The juice also squirts out sometimes. I will not be buying this product any more unless they bring the cans back. I also feed my 9 cats Fancy Feast, so that is what they will be getting all the time as far as their canned food. The weird shape of the containers fall over when stacked in the cupboard..........they are weird to hold..........

WARNING! The ingredients listed for the item description is wrong or the formula has changed.I normally feed my cat the canned beef pate but, for whatever reason, it's unavailable so I bought the "perfect portions" assuming it's the same thing just more expensive with different packaging. Nope! I could tell immediately when I opened the wrapping and it smelled way different than what I had been feeding my cat. So I looked at the ingredient list on the packaging.Now, chicken broth is the main ingredient instead of beef. It has more poultry by products than meat by products and it doesn't contain any beef liver as advertised. My cat won't eat this new stuff that costs more than the traditional canned version (a 24 pack of canned food contains 9.6 oz more in total and costs about $1 less) and is, essentially, an inferior product that contains more of the cheaper ingredients (chicken/poultry) and less of the more expensive ones (beef/meat).

I have ordered this several times, in several different flavors, and the portion size is wonderful. HOWEVER -- Many of the packets of this food are already spoiled upon opening. Some are fresh and well-colored & have good texture & smell when opened. However, like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're going to get. Some of the packets, when opened, have a rancid odor. Others are off-color & oxidized to a brownish gray color. Others are a strange liquid-y texture. And at least one of the packets spontaneously burst open on the shelf several days after I received it, and maggots were already growing in it. The smell was horrific. Now, my cat LOVES the fresh & unspoiled packets, but she understandably turns her nose up at the spoiled, off-color, stinky ones. I will not be purchasing this product again, as I cannot afford to gamble on whether I'll get the 'good' stuff or the icky stuff.

Marlon loves Sheba turkey pate. I love the little Perfect Portions: they work out just right with no waste and no refrigeration needed (Marlon refuses to eat leftovers from the fridge no matter what I do with them and this has always been a problem, causing lots of waste). Marlon is 17 years old and has dry food available 24/7 and eats eats three wet meals a day: I open one pate portion for his breakfast and a second for his lunch -- and he finishes both over a short time period - about a half hour as he eats at his leisure (Marlon is large and rangy and he is hyperthyroid and needs his food)! He gets Turkey Cuts for his dinner and if he does not finish the can, I live with the waste!!!! I just love the little loaves that turn out of the Perfect Portions, with just the right amount of gravy to mix in to make them moist and yummy all through. I switched to Sheba fairly recently from a more commercial brand and I feel really good about the transition: both because of what I see as better quality and Marlon's enthusiasm. Marlon has irritable bowel and he is sensitive -- the transition to Sheba was very easy for him. I was able to do the mix 50-50 right away -- and Marlon was eating Sheba 100% after several days. I am happy with Sheba and confident that Marlon (and I) will stay with Sheba for the rest of Marlon's life. Thank you, Sheba, for high-quality food.
