Whims Watercolor Quilt Kits Hummingbirds and Hollyhocks Quilting Supplies

I contacted the company about not printing the pattern pieces in mirror image (which every applique-person knows would allow proper image after transfer to fabric). They gave me some cockamamie procedure they use for fabric transfer which is insane and wasteful with the fusible -- about putting the fusible in little pieces on the back of the fabric and cutting out all the tiny pattern pieces and pinning them to the right side of the fabric. (You have to match that with the little pieces of fusible on the back!) The hummingbird 'bills' cannot be done like that due to their microscopic size! AND the fabric they put in for the applique is a loose-weave, cheap fabric that produces a sloppy edge to the applique. Would NOT recommend this company!

Poor instructions

I have done four kits for gifts.

I like doing new projects and this went together well. Forget the applique patterns. It is not possible to make a stem that small. Just make your own and it will be fine. I also ended up buying some hummingbird appliques as the same thing applies here. The pieces are just to small to work with.

I liked the looks of the kit. I haven't started it. Very very small.

this was gift to our quilting daughter who picked it out. She seemed pleased but hasn't yet carried out the project.
