Laundry Garden Hose Adapter for Reverse Osmosis

All of the reviews stating it doesn't work with standard hose threading probably experienced the same problem I had, but just didn't have the same level of stubbornness that I possess to make something work.Bottom line: the threads are poorly cut, but you can make it work. Only reason I didn't give it 1 star is because I was eventually able to make it work.It will want to crossthread, or barely thread on at all. But, if you sit there and slowly back it off, thread it on, over and over again on a standard brass hose, eventually your hose will cut the threads to where they should be. I had to take this on and off the hose about 30 times, now it threads on buttery smooth, seals just fine. But, every time I threaded it on and off, small white plastic shavings were on the hose threads. It was clearly just cutting the threads to where they should be.You're better off going to a reputable reef supply store (online) and buying a hose adapter that works. Not going to name names so it doesn't seem like I am plugging another store, but if you look around at reef stores online that sell RO systems and find a black colored hose adapter to 1/4 push fit, buy that one, it works 10x better and you don't have to monkey with it.

This fits my 3/4 hose multi hose junction. I use it to run a portable swamp cooler. It's great to not have to rely on a compression sleeve & ferrule setup that leak and are 1 time use. This setup I can easily remove the 1/4" water hose at any time with no tools. No leaks as it seals with a gasket inside like a hose does. Some ppl say it didn't fit. Then they don't have a 3/4" outlet. This is the standard garden hose size FYI. See my picture.

NOT STANDARD GARDEN HOSE THREAD (GHT/NHT) STAY AWAY!!!!

The threads for the hose bib side were VERY difficult to get lined up, and once lined up and tightened and the hose bib opened, the adapter leaked heavily. Tried again using Teflon tape and had the same problem. This item is junk. Have used others with no issues. Plan to return this one.

Maybe I got a defective one, but this would not fit on a standard male hose end. The thread pitch looks like it might be standard pipe thread, not hose thread.

This is, in my opinion, a very niche product. I purchased this along with a Y splitter to install a water filter using a laundry line. Despite my skepticism of quick connect fittings, it worked perfectly with no leaks. It is all plastic, but it seems sturdy. I imagine I'll have to purchase it again in the not so distant future. Overall happy with this purchase.

I don't leave many reviews but I have to say this is what I was looking for and it's worked perfect. Thank you. Going to buy a spare to have on hand.
