Fascinating
Really interesting- take it to RAF Cosford or the equivalent.See what the pilots coped with and remember, when on the ground they couldn’t see where they were going.

Excellent notes to read
The details are excellent and provide a clear overview of the Spitfire engine. Whilst only having an interest in WW2 aeroplanes I was struck by the clear instructions and points of this book.

All you need to know to fly this bird accurately
This is an amazing help to flying the spitfire Mk.I (all be it in a simulator) It helped me immensely with regards to getting the right settings for efficient take off, climb, cruise and landing operations.A truly invaluable piece of kit for every aspiring Spitfire pilot. also a very interesting piece of historic documentation.

Most Disappointing
Pilot's Notes (PN's) of RAF issue are always very well-detailed, even the oldest publications of these. The Spitfire I and the Hurricane I PN's are a) not facsimile copies of the original issue as all PN's are expected to be, b) the cockpit illustrations are of incredibly poor quality, c) some 'expert' has thought it necessary to give an 'expert' opinion - totally unnecessary, as PN's are ALWAYS excellently self-explanatory, even including, as in the Lysander PN, well-deserved warnings on the pitfalls to be alert for on aborted landings. Please understand that PN's are read/ collected by very serious students (many of whom are pilots), and to receive something like this, and that, too, from Amazon directly, is most disappointing, indeed. Dear Amazon, please rectify this immediately by getting the publisher to FACSIMILE the Hurri I and the Spit I PN's soonest.

Highly accurate and detailed
Absolutely the best 10 dollars I have ever spent in my life. If WW2 interests you on any level...this book is for you.I shouldn't say book, it is exactly what it says. It's a big chunk of what the pilot's received when familiarizing themselves with their plane. The cockpit picture makes your everyday problems seem insignificant compared to having to learn that machine aaannnndddddd shoot the luftwaffe out of the sky like absolute champions.Buy the book

Not a faithful reproduction
I was excited to find this AP1565A on here. It is a repro, which is fine. However, upon receiving it, I was stunned that this was a scanned edition with a poor quality spinal bounding. The original editions had large fold-out diagrams (the main reason I wanted this), but this repro does not have that - just small scanned images which are clearly cut and pasted in.Stay away from this print-repro as it nothing like the original.Very disappointed.
