Color:White The Charger Wind Turbine White Edition works well at home, for RVs, remote cabins, and camping. The turbine is one piece so no assembly is required. Many people around the world are using these wind turbines because they are safe, effective, and user-friendly. In addition to tower installation for charging batteries, these wind turbines can be used for testing new inventions. This wind turbine has been used on vehicles, bicycles, boats, kites, kinetic wind sculptures, and to harness hydropower from a stream. Each turbine generates up to 15 watts. Power LED lights, personal electronics, air pumps, and more. These wind turbines are commonly used with solar to help keep a battery topped off.

Fun, but not very useful.
This module made me chuckle. But the design decisions make sense with what dollar amount you are working with. This is a permanent magnet DC motor that is mounted into a PVC tube. Black and Red duct tape is wrapped around the tube to weatherize the motor. A RC plane propeller is then glued to the motor shaft backwards. There is no way to get a good generator with the correct windings at this size and price point. However, it is only going to deliver a trickle charge to most batteries. I get almost 2W of power into a load when manually spinning the motor with my drill. I can see how 5W that people mention at max, with tons of wind.We were looking at solutions where sun is not available. This certainly is not it. When sun is available, you can get 5 times the power for the same price. Even if the wind blows steady all day and night, you are slightly ahead with 6-7 good hours of solar.

I have gone through two of this. The blade blows off after a few hours of 10 miles per hour wind. And they would not let me return it. Its junk.

A bit of generation during the night.
I purchased two units and received one with a broken propeller. PSP replaced the propeller at no cost and quite rapidly. I am experimenting with these two turbines to trickle charge a solar array battery bank during the night. I have 6 batteries in a 12v system in a high wind environment and expect to see a slower discharge rate during night time. Eventually I will install a higher generation wind turbine. So far I have been quite happy with the experience, the solar array harvests over 35 amps to charge the batteries and if these generate 3.8 amps it means a gain of aprox 10% of that full daily harvest power during night time. As said, I expect a slower battery discharge rate when they are generating... maybe a bit optimistically.

I used it in pretty high winds 30mph to 50 mph consistantly
cheap product. I was able to get about 1 amp out of it in roughly 60 mph winds....id say it would trickle charge a 12 volt battery at around 20 pluss mile per hour winds. I've left it up consistantly however props have flown apart within months of usage.....i'm currenlty on my 3rd prop....all props have broken within 3 months into usage....I used it in pretty high winds 30mph to 50 mph consistantly ....I haven't found wind charging to be as beneficial as solar yet....

Hello Mr.Wallace here mines came today and for you all that gave this only 2 and a half star's think again I wanna upload a video so bad it's good but do to patent rights and other legalization I will not be adding a video but this product does exactly and more of its expectations I will buy it again matter fact I'm going to buy a bunch of them again. Love this item love this seller you guys rockkkkkkk!

Trickle Charger Only
This unit is a very basic trickle charger for a 12 V battery. If the wind isn't blowing, you're not charging! I'm using this in conjunction with a Solar Panel to trickle charge a battery. I'm in the open country with plenty of wind. Don't see how this would do any good in a city situation as a fair amount of wind is required unless it's for a special project.

Useful for areas even with little wind
I bought two of these to experiment different blade efficiency, and they seem to work well with just the current blades that come with them. Upon further research, I discovered that the blades need to be broken off to be replaced. This is frustrating because I will most likely want to return to the original design after. Otherwise, they work well for their size, and I will be making the replacement blades with a 3D printer.

meh.
as you see in other reviews, kind of fun/goofy, but not worth $50 shipped. I used some amazon points to take a flier on this, but I knew what I was getting into. I think the price point should be $35-40 shipped, but maybe there's not enough margin. Still, I'll have some fun with this unit.
