It just works
The charger that came with the laptop that I bought over 6 years ago was falling apart. Initially, was worred about buy this charger, in case it did not work, read all the reviews and decided to go for it. Really pleased that I did. The connecting point that goes into the laptop is a bit thicker than my last one, but it just slide in and started to charge my unit up. Honestly, I am so glad I purchased this and wouldn't hesitate to buy again. For reference and in case these details might help others, my laptop is a HP intel, core 3

I have two ancient but much loved giant HP laptops that I use in various rooms of the house. I bought my first replacement charger when I was away for work & had forgotten mine at home. Having an extra charger has made so much difference, as I could leave one permanently plugged in and didn't have to keep crawling under my desk. So now I bought extra couple and have them permanently plugged in in the living room, the kitchen, my office and the bedroom and feel much more portable as a result.It's made working from home under Covid much nicer, as I can easily switch to a different room when I'm getting a bit stir crazy.

Worrying heat produced by charger.
I meant to buy the approved HP charger. And in future I will. This unit runs so hot it probably should not be near anything flammable. It is not far being too hot to touch at all! When I switch it on, my digital radio goes off. It does do the job a charger should do, no issues with the computer itself or charging. But it does not inspire any confidence that it is safe to be left unattended at any point. Having read other reviews, there is a definite theme here, so I wouldn't buy a second one.

Product use for hp laptop, i3 processor, yes value for money I think.
