The aerator is not meant to be used in place of a cork - so once you've had your fill, replace the proper cork and clean the aerator. If you don't have the storage space for a decanter, this is the item for you! It's great to get your wine to breathe quickly, and also great for travel, since it comes with a case. I've given it as a gift to my friends and family that enjoy wine!

Works very well. Very occasionally the tube comes off but is easily reattached. It lasted about 2 1/2 years with nearly daily use. This is our second one.
