These are great bags to store food and toiletries when backpacking. Not an approved "bear" proof container, but really excellent at containing smells.

The smaller version of this bag I am giving primary credit for the fact on my last few hikes I have seen no evidence of any rhodents crawling overr my gear looking for food. I think it is truly odor proof. So...I have ordered this larger one to try and keep certain things in my campervan in, dry goods in my galley, to prevent any sort of mice invasions. So far, as I have had this several months now, and have gone out on several trips, there have been no mice invasions. I am using a friends van currently, and she has had a problem with mice in several areas of the desert where we hike. No problems so far since using these bags to keep dry foods in that would be risky and attractive to those little critters. No evidence they have even visited.

The 28x20 are the best size for backpacking. All the smaller sizes rip too easily. If any of the Opsak are full, they will stress out of the zip lock and rip it making it useless.

I purchased these (28" X 20") to keep food in during a canoe trip to the boundary waters. Everything stayed completely dry and the bags held up great considering how full they were. I would love to see this size made with zipper seal along the short side verses the long side.

First let me say that the 20x28 bags are HUGE. I meant to order the next size down, but somehow ended up with the giant ones. I backpack with my dog, and used these for her food. She is on a special diet and her food wreaks of fish. Packaged in regular ziplocks her food has all of my gear, pack, and clothes smelling like fish. Which, is really bad for hiking in bear country. These bags stop all odor from her food. I plan to order more in various sizes for my other smellables while backpacking.
