The Great Dinosaur Mystery and the Bible Hardcover – September 15, 1998

Very factual book.

The book is obviously written from a Christian perspective, yet I am Jewish and I've bought a total of four books by now, some to place at different locations in my house and others as gifts for relatives.It is difficult for a Jew coming in from the cruel, lie-infested secular world, yet not ready for the rigors of Orthodoxy, to find their niche. On the one hand you have the proponents of evolutionary theory, which, from its invention by Darwin and company, has had it as its goal to make G-d and the Bible irrelevant, while on the other hand, you have Christians devoted to G-d and the Bible. They put out a children's book like Great Dinosaur Mystery and the Bible, but can't leave out references to Jesus and the new testament. What I did was appreciate the obviously loving, devoted effort, by giving this elegant book five stars, while taking a black marker to the text and pictures that are overtly or cloyingly Christian. I wish there was a book that expressed the devotion to Genesis, that the authors of this book displayed, without the overt Christian references, but I don't know of any at this time.The book does an excellent job of showing young children that there is another, much more logical, way to look at the past. The pictures are attractive and appealing to both girls and boys and the accompanying text is clear, succinct, and fast flowing.

I've actually bought this book three times -- loaned out twice and never got it back. Great book for teens and adults, alike. It explains a lot of questions some people have and clears up confusion.

My 10 year old asked me how dinosaurs fit in with creation. I wasn't sure what to say, and wanted to give her a good answer. I told her I would look into it online, but I wasn't real happy with the answers I found. I found this book and ordered it for her birthday, but read it myself before giving it to her. I was very pleased with the explanations in this book and the way it was depicted. She was excited to get it and happy I found her answer even though she had to read it herself....LOL

🦖My four year old is really interested in dinosaurs. So for his birthday we bought him some books from Answers in Genesis. 🦕Yes there’s a lot that’s over his head but he’s been so fascinated he hasn’t wanted me to stop. They tell how God created dinosaurs in the garden of Eden🌳, how sin 💀caused the dinosaurs to change. It tells of Noah and why God sent a flood🌊, and thus all the mud that buried so many dinosaurs 🦴whole. 🌈And explains the ice age layers on top. ❄️And he’s asking some pretty intense questions. Thank you Lord for dinosaurs 🦕and the 📖 Bible.🙌

For those who want an alternative to the presentation of dinosaurs having evolved millions of years ago, this is a nice, thorough, yet not-too-long book for your 4-12 year old. I enjoyed it as an adult, but I had heard most of the arguments before. If you believe that the Bible is the inerrant word of God , that God spoke animals and Adam and Eve into existence in their current form as Genesis describes, then this is a breath of fresh air. Their are biblical references throughout in parenthesis to back up the statements of fact. Many statements are also stated as a belief of scientists who are Christians. There are a few places where opinion based on facts is not explained as "a POSSIBLE answer" but rather as fact. For instance, the explanation of the flood and how fossils were formed by it states, "The earth's crust heaved and buckled unleashing terrible volcanic eruptions and massive earthquakes like the world has never seen before or since. Rain poured out from dark, thundering skies in unending torrents. Waves of loosened earth and trees slid down hillsides burying plants by the thousands." While I believe this is probably the case, I would have liked the author to give credit to scientific research that supports this like he does elsewhere in the book for other plausible theories. Of course, books based on evolution do the same thing in the opposite direction, stating theory as fact, so I'd prefer this to that any day. There are several pages dedicated to dragons and how these embellished stories tend to imply that man did live at the same time as dinosaurs. Several recent sightings (over last 500 yrs) are also explored as possibilities. There are pictures of real fossils, but they are mostly in black and white. The drawings are in color and/or b&w. I like the question and answer format of the book. I will certainly read this with my children, but I will stop to ask which parts are definitely true according to the Bible and which facts COULD be true according to the Bible to clarify for them. Glad I made the purchase.

WOW! So impressed with this book. It answers every possibly question you could have about dinosaurs with both scripture and scientific discovery in the most simple way. A rare find!

This book is enlightening to adults and children alike. My skeptical husband is just about convinced.

This book covers the questions kids ask about Creation and dinosaurs beautifully. I bought this for a friend whose 7 year old granddaughter has so many questions. They will be reading it together. Which is what I would recommend, even if the child can read it on their own. That way you can connect with your child and have great discussions. I confess; I read it before I gave it to her. Not only did I love it, but even teachers can learn from this awesome book. I will be buying another one for my classroom. Buy it and have fun 😃

As expected, scientifically inaccurate, but a creative way of illustrating how everyone is free to believe what they are happy to believe, and that’s ok.

This book is great for us as we believe the bible to be true. It helps us explain the truth about dinosaurs and the age of the earth to our grandchildren.
